Celebrating our Mexican brethren expelling the French, which we thought was a good thing. A/K/A Cinco de Mayo. One day after the celebration of gnostic pantheism and four days after celebrating international workers solidarity and Mother Mary comes to me. Enjoy
It's my understanding that Cinco de Mayo is a much bigger deal in the US than it is in Mexico. To most Americans it's a good excuse to drink Margaritas and eat Mexican food. An interesting question is would the French have even tried their stunt of attempting to turn Mexico into a French colony under the rule of an Austrian royal if the US wasn't involved in our own Civil War at the time considering what the French were attempting was a clear violation of the Monroe Doctrine.
You are correct. Much bigger here than there. Promoted by American beer companies. But to the extent it is anything in Mexico, it is celebrating that victory. Callback on the French here The Last Emperor of Mexico | Swamp Gas Forums
