The bigger concern to me is Keagen had that back thing on the entire game yesterday. Hopefully just soreness with her throwing so much Wednesday and Friday. But something to keep an eye on.

It appeared to me that it was just some kind of treatment like massage or something similar. I don’t think she had it on in the post game. I could be completely wrong though.

    KPI just released:

    Faktor (faktorsports.com)

UF is barely at 8. In the RPI, UF didn't move up so still 10.

    KPI Top 16

    1. Texas
    2. Oklahoma
    3. Tennessee
    4. Duke
    5. Oklahoma State
    6. Stanford
    7. UCLA
    8. Florida
    9. LSU
    10. Missouri
    11. Arkansas
    12. Texas A&M
    13. Georgia
    14. Florida State
    15. Alabama
    16. Louisiana

I'd play today as a must win game, think at FSU. If either Arkansas or Texas A&M win the SEC Tournament, they could pass the Gators over for the 8th slot. Win today, I don't think the SEC Tournament matters just as it doesn't for Tennessee.

The other teams would be fighting for seeding position. Ole Miss has won back-to-back weekend series, this week at Arkansas, so the rebs are fighting to avoid being the only SEC team to not make the NCAA Tournament.

Bama is going to be a NINE seed in the SEC tournament. Don't you feel so sorry for Patrick Murphy. I'll never get over the fact he wouldn't sign Skylar's release.

My scoring analysis of a crazy sixth inning. Someone jump in and correct if any wrong. As to the obstruction at third, I think a bad call. My understanding is the obstruction rule had minor changes for this year and that the umpire has the right to make a judgement call that the runner was clearly out by a considerable amount regardless of any obstruction. The runner was easily out. As for the other, I think the announcers led everyone astray. And I thought Amanda was smarter than that. The infield fly was correctly called. It simply requires runners on first and second and what would be a routine infield play to an infielder and that's what it was. You DON'T HAVE TO CATCH THE INFIELD FLY. It does not matter if you catch it or drop it. The batter is already out. Complete B.S. about judging the wind or sun. Now, what I'm not sure was correct. If the batter is already out, as she was, than shouldn't the force be off at second and you would have to tag the runner? I thought we played it as a 4-6 force out. Not sure we ever tagged the runner. Edit: If on an infield fly, you have to catch the ball, then the infield fly rule is non-existent and meaningless. It doesn't matter if you catch it, drop it, or a cosmic ray pushes the ball away.)

I thought the same thing and watched the replay. We didn't tag her per se, she just walked right into the ball that was in Skylar's glove.

    Hello Top 8 National Seed!

Now, go play loose and have fun in the SEC Tournament. My hope is the Gators get to the finals and take down the vols.

    Go Gators!

I watched that interview over a year ago. What stats are those you post? I didn't watch the whole interview again but if those stats were mentioned in it then I'm not sure they would be either last season's travel or this year's high school. Interview is too old. If those are the prior year high school stats....lol....Taylor playing against high school players is akin to Babe Ruth playing Little League.

Well, if she "walked" into the glove it is still a tag. I'd have to see the replay again. I thought that we thought it was a 4-6 force and didn't actually tag her. I'm simply not sure without seeing it again.

    The infield fly rule. "
n baseball and softball, the infield fly rule states that certain fly balls are treated as if they have been caught, even if the infielder fails to catch them or drops them on purpose. The umpire declares an infield fly when the ball is in fair territory, such as in the fielder's glove or if the fielder drops it. The batter is out regardless of whether the ball is caught, and the baserunners can advance at their own risk. If the ball is caught, the baserunners can attempt to advance as they would on a typical ball caught in the air.

Otherwise, the team would be able to force out baserunners who had stayed put on a routine fly ball. In these situations, the umpire will declare "infield fly" for the benefit of the baserunners as soon as it is apparent that the fly ball qualifies as an infield fly. The batter is out even if the ball is not caught, and the baserunners can advance at their own risk. If the ball is caught, the baserunners can attempt to advance as they would on a typical ball caught in the air.

How to call INFIELD FLY - Umpire Training
Mar 11, 2022 — line simply point in the air to signal in-field fly. and say in-field fly if fair. this means that if the ball lands in fair territory. either in the fielder's glove or if he drops it it will be an in-field fly and the batter will be out if it lands in foul territory. it will simply be a foul ball unless it's caught in which case it will be an. out. you can always call infield fly after the play is over if a line drive is hit sharply to one of the infielders. or if you lost track of the runners or how many outs there were you can call in-field fly immediately after the play is over this will bring the runners back to their original bases and the battle runner will be out hopefully this helps you understand the in-field fly rule and how to make the call on. the field.
The infield fly rule applies when there are fewer than two outs and there are runners on first and second, or first, second, and third. The fly ball cannot be a bunt or a line drive. The pitcher, catcher, and any outfielder stationed in the infield on the play are considered infielders for the purpose of this rule.
The rule can be called after the play is over if a line drive is hit sharply to one of the infielders, or if you lost track of the runners or how many outs there were.

We were picked to finish 8th in the SEC (was that SEC coaches who picked us?) and we finished 2nd.

Walton should win Coach of the year in the SEC hands down.

I believe the third out was that the runner on second left the base before the infield fly was called and did not tag up at second before advancing. With Skylar just touching the second base she was out. I believe that was the final decision by the umpires.

Now! What a finish by Katie and Jocey. Both were clutch and drove in the runs needed to win the game. They sealed the deal. The Gators now have a chance for a top eight seed after the hits off those two bats.

I just watched "Bama SB" on SEC Storied. I had no idea that Murphy agreed to leave Alabama for LSU, appeared at a big press conference at LSU announcing his hire, then reneged three days later. Do forum rules permit me to say, "What a dick."

Don't think so. The ball was not caught. She doesn't have to tag up.
