Sounds like some other college administrators could take some advice from him.

University of Florida President Ben Sasse bragged that his campus is free of the disruptive protests seen across the country even as graduation ceremonies are underway Sunday.
Sasse, a former Senator from Nebraska, (undefined) made the comments during an appearance on CNN's State of the Union with host Jake Tapper. Sasse emphasized that students at the U of F are allowed to protest, but they still face "rules."
"What we tell all of our students, protesters and non, is, there are two things we're going to affirm over and over again. We will always defend your right to free speech and free assembly, and, also, we have time, place, and manner restrictions. You don't get to take over the whole university. People don't get to spit at cops," Sasse said.
"You don't get to barricade yourselves in buildings. You don't get to disrupt somebody else's commencement. We don't allow protests inside. I have -- on my run this morning, I ran by our group of protesters waving their Palestinian flag. We protect their right to do that, but we have rules," he continued. "One of those rules is, we don't allow camping on campus. And so you can't start to build an encampment, but our goal is not to arrest people. It's to help them get into compliance with the rules. They can protest. They can try to persuade
people, but they don't get to build a camp."

Trying to recall how many times prior UF presidents were on Face the Nation or State of the Union as part of their jobs at UF? Maybe I just never noticed.

Kudos to Sasse, he established his gravitas as non-partisan regarding free speech when he voted (as one of seven Republican Senators) to convict Trump for his actions of Jan 6 after his impeachment trial in the Senate. The man has integrity and courage.

Makes me proud that crap is not being allowed on our campus. I would be disgusted if our campus looked like Columbia or UCLA this past week.

Lol... our resident Dems love those RINOs... However, I have no complaints about how he has conducted business as University of Florida President.

I would love for this mental midget to run for governor. It would mean that he would no longer be a state embarrassment as the least qualified and least intellectually capable University President in America.

I very rarely engage in Too Hot because you are mostly brother and sister Gators and this place tends to break those bonds.
Look, I am not a Republican or a Democrat.
I think both parties are FOS.
But Sasse is not a RINO. He is the VERY definition of the Republican party and the conservative movement godfathered by William F. Buckley.
    That's that.

DeSantis is already doing that with his dip-stick puppet. Find it hilarious that he could not even find his way to the stadium for graduation yesterday without his "handlers" pointing him in the right direction. Just about spit up watching that idiot roaming around lost on campus.

I wish he was there, or had time to make some changes, before my oldest daughter started. I feel better about what my youngest daughter is walking into now.

He's the definition of a Republican in your very reasonable view.

But Rick is correct here. Today's Republicans are molded after and directed by Trump. Sorry, but that's the reality. Just look at the DeSantis-Sasse connection....and recall that DeSantis just pledged a significant effort to fund raise for Trump.
