Im not sure what the historical percentage of civilian casualties in urban warfare has to do with whether an endeavor is successful or not or whether it’s justifiable.

More importantly, again, we are dealing with terrorists, not a government capable of rational thought who will capitulate if enough of their innocents are slaughtered. They DON’T CARE.

Israel’s approach is clearly not going to work. All it’s doing is killing innocents and creating the next generation of terrorists. It’s also sowing further anti-Zionism discord all over the world.

well we can respectfully disagree. Urban combat is urban combat so the civilian death numbers are comparable to anyone including Hamas. My point is Hamas doesn’t care about their people so you can’t expect the Israelis to care more about Gazans than they care about their civilians. Even though you could absolutely conclude israelis care about Gazans much more than Hamas does do based on their strategy. Everything i read says 6,000-10,000 Hamas killed. So if we take average of 8,000 then 8,000 vs 30,000 is about 73% which is well bellow historical figures. That data says Israel should be commended for the way they have fought so far. Newsweek seems to agree

Israel Has Created a New Standard for Urban Warfare. No One Will Admit It

Again, the percentage of civilian deaths in an urban conflict has no bearing on whether the civilians deaths are justified or on whether the offensive in said urban area is effective in its aims (in this case, the eradication of a terrorist group hiding amongst innocents).

If the goal was to get a traditional non-sociopathic society to capitulate by inflicting harm on their civilian population I would agree it’s a sound strategy. But Hamas is none of those things. Israel isn’t even targeting their leadership which is in another country entirely.

Hamas is going nowhere. All this is doing is getting a bunch of people needlessly killed and creating future terrorists.

10-15 years from now when the little boy survivors grow up and are radicalized to avenge their parents deaths I hope you aren’t surprised. It’s 100% coming.

If a terrorist was barricaded in your home with your wife and kids as shields and Biden decided to blow your house up to get the terrorist I’m sure you would not approve.

You are saying “Hamas doesn’t care what happens to civilians”, this is actually an understatement, Hamas *wants* civilian casualties. They want civilian suffering. The monied interests and “leaders” don’t care as they aren’t the ones on the ground suffering, they are in Qatar. People with nothing left to lose are more ripe for extremism, more recruitable as martyrs. Once you have that fundamental understanding you can understand Israel is playing into Hamas’s hands every time they blow up a hospital or group of children.

I’ve worked with breaching and it’s a high risk endeavor but I can promise you I would be the first one in the door to clear that house and free my family from all those animals post haste. And if there was someone there more skilled and experience than me I would assist them through that door. And I’ll bet miami tickets that if they had your family you’d be calling whatever high speed tactical Unit you thought would answer your call and not sitting back and hoping for Hamas guys to come to their senses and let your family go unharmed

yes and no. Israel is only playing into their hands if they are concerned about what some dipshi- at Columbia or what Christian amanpour thinks. Which it appears they are undeterred. The best weapon Hamas has the naivety of others. Jmho

More than a million Palestinians are sheltering in Rafah. It’s going to be a bloodbath. If you thought it’s been bad up until now, it’s about to get way worse.

And still,Hamas has managed to misappropriate the aide earmarked for the citizens—aid sent by foreign countries and aid sent by Israel (yes, the country at war with Hamas delivers humanitarian aid to the people).

War is horrible. Period. It is a tragic consequence of living in a world with borders.

And with war comes devastating tragedy. Hamas has no interest in stopping the conflict, because every day of the conflict represents a win for their PR campaign. To be sure,if there was true interest they would have released the hostages. They still haven’t, because they don’t want ann end to the war. Every new days distances the reality of an October 7 from the spin of October 7 that Hamas’ PR campaign spins. (See, for example, the interview below). Every new day translates to new Hamas recruits that buy into false narratives and revised history. Hamas and its cohorts have one, singular goal — the elimination of Israel. They have no interest in peace, no interest in compromise, no interest in mutual co-existence. And thus, we have the horrible consequences of war.

I don't doubt they mishandled some aid, but are you getting this information from neutral verified sources or is this just what the Israeli government is telling us? Provide a link, if you don't mind.

argument doesn’t make any sense. IDF isn’t blowing up kibbutz. Contrary to what you Believe the IDF tactics will be taught at war college for years. The IDF has performed very well based on all numbers I’m seeing coming out.
