Also the best thrown game by Ava in a while.

I wasn't giving up.... I'm simply saying that game never should have made it to the point it did.

Ava was up and down and had too many walks.
Despite both Miller and Wooten warming up, Tim chose to keep Ava in the game, a decision that I felt was not in the best interest of the team's success. I was anticipating a pitching change, which I believe was crucial at that point.
I questioned the decision both times. He let Ava gut it out, and I am glad he did.
That will give Ava confidence moving forward.
In the last two batters, she was outstanding.
Where would we be without Korbe and Jocey?

Until I saw Rothrock with something wrapped around her lower back and abdomen, I thought Coach Walton should bring her in to finish the game when we were up 8-3 and worry about locking up this game and not worry about tomorrow. But it all worked out in the end.

The offense struck early and often as per my pregame request. I should have thrown in don’t ever take foot off gas. Ava didn’t limit free passes or pitch from ahead but OMG, she absolutely showed a ton of GRIT. Grit is probably the defining characteristic of this team. The defense didn’t sparkle behind Ava but in the end our ladies got another crucial win! I’m still shaving my hair off tonight. GOOOOOO GATORS!!!!

Sounds bad but I'm really enjoying watching OSU mash off of Kelly Maxwell.

Completely agree. She got on base twice today. And scored.

She may not have turned the corner yet, but starting with the UGA series I think the corner might be in sight and next year will be a quantum leap forward.

I was meaning that here lately, like the last few games, including today her at bats are improving..I was trying to be complimentary....perhaps the way I worded came off wrong..so I edited it..to make myself clear..

Trinity Cannon looks like her summer intern job is muscle for the mafia.

I thought that didn't sound like you to criticize! I edited my reply in light of your edit.

I'm afraid this is who we are now. I am reluctantly accepting this fact. Our fielding percentage is unusually low this year. We've had these multiple error innings resulting in multiple unearned runs in a few games surrendering normally comfortable leads - recently Mich, MSU, UGA, FSU, and now TA&M. Luckily we've overcome most of these. I can't get used to these defense lapses after UF has has a stellar defensive reputation for so long.

Head shaved. Even did eyebrows and nose hair. Nothing left to pull out therefore no reason to not have a nice, relaxing run rule victory tomorrow to cap off the regular season!

Text doesn’t translate well to actual thoughts. Much is lost in translation as they say. Nobody here does or should doubt your love for our Gators, I certainly don’t.

I get frustrated but I’m in love and so excited with “who we are” right now. We’re being led by FRESHMAN pitchers who have zero upperclassmen support and backup. They shouldn’t have to carry this load but they’re doing phenomenal. They will learn location and become the strikeout pitchers that they are next season. For now too many balls go into the field which puts extra stress on the defense. Errors will happen it’s the law of probability. I don’t like the errors either but how about focusing on the highlight defensive plays our defense Regularly makes. The sky is the limit for these ladies.

Softball threads are the absolute best of all Gator threads, IMO. There is passion, knowledge, insight, differences of perspective and opinion sometimes, but 99% of the time it's all done with respect, always appreciating the players and coaches. Even when there's criticism, of which I sometimes am guilty, it's backed by facts and reasons, never with malice or a desire to hurt or demean the individuals. I very much appreciate being a part of the regulars who post here. This team is special and I think we all know that, regardless of how the post season goes.
With that said, I have a commitment that will keep me away from a TV until probably 2 or 3 pm Sunday, so will be watching the game from my YouTubeTV cloud library after we get home, so will not be getting on any Gator websites or message boards until I've finished watching. Hope we can get the brooms out and finish the regular season in style. Gooo Gators!!

gotta say was ticked off when skylar didn't sacrifice on the first 2 strikes and then struck out on low and outside. all we needed was a sac fly.

So you think that Skylar made a decision not to hit a game-winning sac fly on the first two strikes? You think that she wasn't doing her very best to move the runner? Can't say I follow that logic at all.

I was sitting next to Skylar's mom. She was so nervous as Skyler came to bat. And I will also say that she couldn't have been happier when Erickson walked us off. She seems like a real fan that wants the team to do well, not just her daughter. Class act.
