Mike Repole is a self-made billionaire from Queens, NY who owns the early favorite in today's Kentucky Derby. He also is a die-hard St. John's basketball fan and is investing somewhere in 7 figures this year into St. John's NIL collective. The large amount of St. John's NIL money along with the opportunity to play for Rick Pitino has put St. John's solidly in contention for several of the best players in the transfer portal, including Norchad Omier, Kadary Richmond, Deivon Smith and others. This doesn't mean that St. John's will get any of the aforementioned players, but they are all 1st-Team Big East level players.
Repole didn’t win the Derby. He’s going to have to shift to trying to win the NCAA basketball championship.
I’m not a horse racing guy, but that was a bummer. Both the trainer and jockey for Sienna Leone are clients/friends. What a heartbreaker!!!
Repole is sharing their heartbreak. His favored horse got mushroom stomped. The jockey on the winning horse won it. Brilliant move on the inside rail.
Repole needs to get his horse into the weight room. The horse tends to fold when he gets pushed around.
