No one on / 2 outs Villeneuve (who was the first out) again goes down swinging. What a schmuck! 11/6/1/0 AH 13-3
I lean more towards the hitting, which did not do anything to put pressure on Tennessee today. Coppola comes in after Cags and Cags is still undefeated. I’d also say that Tennessee worked Cags on the base paths by throwing over a ton and making him slide over and over and over and taking some of his energy away. Coach is one of the best in the business and he is basically saying if you’re going to pitch him on Sunday, we are going to work him Friday and Saturday. And, it showed today as Cags faded early. Other teams will follow Suit and anytime he gets on base. They will throw over six or seven times and try to wear him down.
I’m Saying saving him to the midweek hurt us really bad today. He gives us 25 to 30 pitches today and we are looking at a different ball game. You’re not wrong as we have to win the mid week and I’m sure he will start but today was much more important than the mid week and I’m sure you agree with that
May not even make a regional at this point then unless we win two or three games in the SEC tournament. By not pitching Copa this weekend I feel like we gave away a game.
Need to find a way to win the series next weekend at home. I think we could get in with a 13-17 SEC record and a win in the SEC tournament but with this team, who knows?
I don't think it was intentional but they also hit Cags in the lower leg the inning before he came out. I thought the same thing with the throwing over, it seemed like in one AB they threw over 5 times.
It was intentional to throw over and over and over. Several that coached saw what they We’re doing And commented on it on it. Expect Kentucky and Georgia to do the same thing. He clearly worked as he was good for four and tired in the fifth. I feel like Tennessee wore him out Friday night and Saturday night and now others will see that and do the same
