Again, lack of quality hitting hurting us. Gotta give credit to their coach as he is completely aggressive with regards to bringing in guys to pitch and hit that will do the job. Why he is one of the best coaches in the country for sure.
Unless something changes drastically at the plate, we lose the series. No reason we shouldn’t have five or six runs on the board. Cags Pitched another great game.
Slater has just had a horrible year. Probably the most consistent out of the bullpen last year, leading the team in appearances. This year, he's regressed big time.
His ERA is gonna go up now. It pains me to say something negative about Jac Caglianone, but he's not close to pitching like an ace right now.
He won’t play Coppola in relief. He said in Post game yesterday. Coppola has to go through a routine.
He's the best pitcher on our team, no doubt, but he didn't pitch all that great today. Didn't command his fast ball and couldn't get his slider over. Relied totally on his change-up. 5 innings, 6 hits, 2 walks, 1 HBP, 90 pitches, 4 runs, all earned. That's not great.
Do you really think 5+ with 4 earned runs is a "great game"? I'm gonna guess Cags wouldn't feel that way.
There’s a reason UF hasn’t won a series in Gainesville against the Vols since 2015.. Vitello would not have put Slater in and Guy wouldn’t be our CF.
