What are we going to get out of Hovermale when she is not injured? Isn't that Hovermale wearing the sling?

I have got to think it is going to be a tough year in recruiting for TW. Next year's team will be so loaded with great freshman & sophomores that any recruit might think twice about coming to Florida thinking they won't get any meaningful playing time for 2 or 3 years.

Have we on this site already written off Hovermale who came in as a 1st Team All-State California?

Absolutely not, IMO. She got beaten out for 3rd base by Kowalweski and has to decide whether to put in the work in the off season to get better. She has the talent for sure.

Can Hovermale play 2nd or SS? I don't see her beating out Kowalewski as she has been a bright spot freshman on the hot corner.

I talked to her Lou’s (Hovermale’s) Mom two weeks ago. She got it down between OU and the Gators during recruiting. She chose UF. She loves her teammates, the staff and the school. So, for those reasons I hope she stays. To get in the lineup next year, she needs to work hard, produce and be herself. Trust the process Lou! I am cheering for you. Go Lou! Go Gators!

It's interesting because 3B is Hovermale's natural position, while AK came in primarily as a catcher, having played some infield. But when she saw Jocelyn Erickson coming to Gainesville, she worked her tail off to get better at infield play and from what I understand just took the third base job over. Credit to her work ethic and determination. I don't think Hovermale has played SS, but I'm sure she could play 2nd. Just have to put in the work to get better, knowing that we have 2 more high quality infielders coming in next year.

KPI (factorssports.com) has been updated to include yesterday's games and Florida has moved to 9th, Texas A&M dropped to 11th.
DSR (Diamond Sports Ranking) has us at 7th, Texas A&M 9th. Here's a link to that one:

flip lsu out and stanford in to the top 8 and i am okay with dsr. see post 5840. both dsr and kpi are better than rpi. espn announcers said committee is looking at kpi. jmo, uf is top 8 if uf sweeps atm regardless of sec tourney.

I hope she stays. The roster is already smaller than most. We are lucky Ava can hit and pitch. Doesn’t leave a lot of room for injuries. And to get someone out of the portal may be difficult because of the incoming class. The good news is that I really think this team supports one another and plays for one another. I have not seen this type of comraderie for several years, which is a huge factor. Anyway, I’m done with my analysis! Go Gators!

Was Rothrock wearing a black waste support setting in the dugout?

Where would we be without Jocey? Clutch is her middle name.

Ave Brown is not as polished as a pitcher than Rothrock (yet), but she is every bit the fierce competitor. Grit, poise, determination and you can watch this team play and tell how much they care about each other. 2nd place in the SEC after being picked 8th is an incredible achievement. Proves once again why Tim Walton is a Hall of Famer.

About five times this game I would have pulled Ava. Recognizing a multitude of issues that might prevent that .....not wanting to use Keagan today....not confident in anyone else. But, Tim hung in there and didn't make the move. He doesn't show it but his insides must be churning at times.

Washington lost to Utah again today. They've lost 5 of their last 6 Pac-12 games. Also, Syracuse blasted FSU 13-4 to take that series and give Duke the ACC title.

Without going back to check, I think FSU scored something like a total of 10 runs in three games against 'Cuse pitching. Just saying.

I know I am repeating myself, but AK showed up in Fall Ball. She is the reason Pollard transferred. She was outstanding at 3B and a really good catcher, but she is not Jocey.
As I have said before, Hovermale is a head-scratcher.
