To end the regular season Florida, 40-12, 14-7, hosts Texas A&M 39-9, 15-6 this weekend. Games are as follows: Friday, 7 PM SEC+, Saturday 2 PM SECN, Sunday 1 PM ESPN2. The teams are battling for seeding in the SEC tournament, final position in the SEC regular season standings and seeding in the NCAA tournament. Every game is critical.
In the D1 Softball rankings, Texas A&M is #10, Florida is #12.
In the current D1 Softball RPI rankings, Texas A&M is #13, Florida is #16.
Florida's SOS is now #18, Texas A&M is #32. In OOC SOS, Florida is #71, Texas A&M is #92. Florida is 11-8 vs. Top 25 RPI teams, Texas A&M is 7-6.
In the Diamond Sports Rankings (DSR), Texas A&M is #7, Florida is #10.
In the KPI Rankings, Texas A&M is #9, Florida is #10.
    In regards to SEC statistics:
Florida is #1 in team batting average at .344, Texas A&M is 3rd at .309.
Texas A&M is #5 in team ERA at 2.18, Florida is 11th at 2.87.
Florida is tied with Auburn & Tennessee at #3 in Fielding % at .975, Texas A&M is 6th at .974.
Florida is 1st in slugging %, On Base %, Runs Scored, Hits & RBI.
Texas A&M is 4th in Slugging, 3rd in On Base %, 2nd in Runs Scored, 6th in Hits and 4th in RBI.
Florida is 1st in Doubles, 1st in Triples and 2nd in Home Runs.
Texas A&M is 6th in Doubles, 2nd in Triples and 5th in Home Runs.
Florida is 1st in Walks Drawn with 233, Texas A&M is 3rd with 198.
Texas A&M is 3rd in Fewest Strikeouts with 178, Florida is 5th with 196.
Florida is 1st in Stolen Bases with 97, Texas A&M is 2nd with 67.
From a pitching standpoint, Texas A&M is 2nd in Opponenst BA at .193, Florida is 4th at .211.
Texas A&M is 6th in Batters Struck Out with 301, Florida is Last with 220.
Florida is 8th in Fewest Walks Allowed with 128, Texas A&M is 9th with 132.
Texas A&M is 6th in Fewest Home Runs Allowed with 25, Florida is 8th with 32.

Florida has somewhat better offensive statistics, fielding is basically equal, and Texas A&M has the pitching edge. The big obstacle for Florida will be Emily Kennedy, A&M's ace pitcher. She has thrown 157.2 innings, 3rd most in the SEC (Rothrock is 1st), with a 1.51 ERA and .170 BA against. She is tied for 3rd in K's with 165, and has 20 wins, 2nd only to Rothrock's 21. She also has 5 saves and has appeared in 34 of the Aggies 48 games.

Huge series for the Gators vs aTm and a chance to improve in SEC standings as well as post-season seeding. I’ll be at KSP all weekend loud and proud! Go Gators!

Public Service Announcement: Normally softball starts before baseball and so we get the best parking spots (as it should be :) ). The boys were rained out last night so there's a baseball doubleheader starting at 3PM. Depending on where your normally park, you might want to consider allowing additional time.

Just as additional information, the following numbers are rankings of Florida & Texas A&M in SEC games ONLY:
    Team BA - Florida .290 (1st), Texas A&M .250 (5th)
    Team ERA - Texas A&M 2.95 (5th), Florida 4.34 (11th)
    Fielding - Texas A&M .979 (2nd), Florida .969 (7th)
Florida is averaging 6.3 runs per game in SEC games; Texas A&M is averaging 5.3 runs per game.
In Slugging %, On Base %, Runs Scored Hits & RBI, Florida is 1st in conference games.
Texas A&M is 5th in Slugging, 3rd in On Base %, 2nd in Runs Scored, 6th in Hits and 5th in RBI.
In Doubles, Florida is 2nd, Texas A&M is 7th. In Home runs, Florida is 2nd, Texas A&M is 6th.
In Walks, Texas A&M is 1st, Florida is 2nd. In Strikeouts, Florida has the 4th fewest with 110, Texas A&M has the 4th fewest with 112.
From a pitching standpoint, Florida is allowing 4.43 runs per game in conference play; Texas A&M is allowing 3.24 runs per game.
In opponents BA, Texas A&M is 2nd at .190, Florida is 10th at .258.
In Batters struck out, Texas A&M has the 5th most with 121, Florida has the fewest with only 64.
In walks allowed, Florida has the 7th fewest with 64, Texas A&M has the 11th fewest with 84.
In Home Runs allowed, Texas A&M has the 7th fewest with 18, Florida has the 8th fewest with 20.

Again, to me the keys to this weekend are: 1) How Florida's offense performs against the Aggies' ace Emily Kennedy, who may be the best pitcher we've faced all year. 2) How Rothrock & Brown pitch. Can they keep a very good Texas A&M offense under 3-4 runs per game?

Ironic that last time we won the SEC we did it by beating A&M on Julia Cotrills homerun lol. And now that's where she is.

No matter what we need to win 2 I think.... that will keep us from dropping to a 15 or 16 seed which I don't think we want. While it would be fun to knock off OU or Texas in supers I'd rather face them in the WCWS lol.

Some more facts. Gators & A&M both played SC, Miss St, LSU, UK, & AL. Gators were 11 & 4 and A&M was 9 & 6. A&M's other two SEC teams played were bottom feeders Auburn & Miss whereas Gators played GA. & MO. Florida's tougher schedule might be partially the reason for the disparity in pitching stats. A&M was swept by LSU so the best team they beat record wise in the SEC was Miss. St at 10 & 11. Ocala is correct that if our young pitchers can keep them to 4 or under we should do fine.
