This team has given us a ton of excitement this year. The freshman pitchers are learning on the job and even when things aren' going their way, they keep their composure. Just need to learn to get ahead early in the count and not continue pitching from behind. Would have been easy to pack it in in Tallahassee after FSU tied it up in the bottom of the 7th, but Rothrock shut 'em out the last 2 innings and the offense got the lead. Grit! These young ladies, all of them, battle hard.
Sitting in the stands with delirious FSU fans last night at the end of the 7th, I was thinking that this was a crossroads moment. Up six runs in the 7th, had we gone on to lose, that would have taken a lot of air out of the balloon and really left us deflated. But then coming back as we did, had to really instill confidence that you can knock us down, but we get back up and fight on. Never out of it. And you just have to think that Skyler is gonna rebound at some point -- hopefully this weekend. What's happened lately with her is an aberration. Old Skyler will return. Then, lookout!
Anyone with recruiting knowledge stil sure Layla lamar is going to arrive? Just would think she would be posting stuff about our wins like most recruits and she's not but has about Duke. Didn't even really see a smile out of her when she got the hit.... only after the game was over she finally loosened up.
Layla has signed her NLI. She's in. Some don't do much on social media. Taylor Shumaker is almost silent. Doesn't mean anything.
I don't know about Tim being involved and I have my doubts. But it is an official scorer's job to get it right. They have benefit of replay long after the actual play. Plus, any good scorer who charged a hit in the first or second inning on a very debatable call would, and should, go back and consider changing it when that is the only play late in the game negating a no-hitter. That is their job and is not just "homerism".
Lamar signed in Nov. Her mom is the Duke coach so natural to post......but I only see on retweet about Duke.
Sure hope she comes and then some. The average SEC roster has a minimum of 21 players and five pitchers. If all the underclassman come back and all recruits show up Gators will be at 17 players with 4 pitchers. TW has some work to do in the off season.
I jsut know with the situation with her father it would be sadly understandable. I actually did not even mean to post that. Had typed it earlier and thought I backed it all out but it saved my draft and added to that Wallace post. Not trying to create doubt or anything but was curious.
I worried about her signing after such a rough summer....but she went thru with it. I guess we will have to be concerned about the family situation regardless
Layla signed with us. JoJo, her sister, committed to UCLA. While the family situation is dire, it does not seem to be an issue with where the kids will go to play. Granted, JoJo could back out since she hasn't signed anything and we could release Layla from her NLI if requested, and I'm sure we would do it, neither seems to be a real concern at this point. If staying home and playing at Duke was a factor, I don't think things would have progressed to where they are today.
This is great. If you watch Korbe when someone else does something good, she is a tiger. If I'm caught some night in a dark alley, I want Korbe with me.
With tonight’s loss Alabama will finish under .500 in the sec for the first time in school history. Currently 9-13.
Korbe is phenomenal. Elvis Korbe I don’t even know what to say or think lol. However when it comes to dark alleys Skylar is still who I’d want with me. Ideally I’d prefer to avoid scary, dark alley situations all together.
Of course we will. She’s a Gator so we will care and support however we can. I certainly don’t know everything that’s going on but I wouldn’t be surprised to find out Dad is telling his girls to just go play the game you love and live your dreams.
The game had a 7th inning scare that brought back memories of Wednesday. As I recall, there's some dislike of Mickey Dean in this forum -- any specifics?
