I always thought Obama and Hillary looked locked in and Biden looked bored.

To the extent I interpreted the photo, I liked that 44 positioned himself mainly to observe, knowing photos were being taken, and did not get in the way of the professionals more involved in the details of the operation. But it's always dangerous to interpret a photo

That wasn't really meant as a slight to Biden. It was more of a kudos to Obama and Hillary for being that locked in for what was actually a pretty long mission.

I had hopes that Admiral McRaven would go into politics but it never happened. I can understand why he didn't, was just hopeful.

Heard him speak once and had similar thoughts. Of course, that's a big jump. Very different world. But I agree he is incredibly impressive.

Agreed, big jump but as you probably saw, he is incredibly intelligent. Did some time as chancellor in the U Texas system but had health problems.

And that is a problem with politics. The smartest and best don’t go into it and it’s getting worse.

I like the part of that episode of the Newsroom where the reporters were stuck on the plane and were upset until they realized they could "deliver the news" to the pilots and crew of the United flight they were on, I think it was United.

The military op was impressive but a slam dunk once Bin Laden had been located. With six weeks to plan and rehearse, any number of special ops teams could have pulled that off. The real heroes were the members of the CIA team that tracked him down.

Credit to the CIA team, but military ops are never a slam dunk (except maybe in the movies.)

Wait, people actually liked that Newsroom episode? It was the cringiest episode of maybe the cringiest show ever made. Unrestrained Sorkin is the worst Sorkin.

Love that episode. It was a great way to introduce my daughter into the significance of the moment.

I don't like that Sorkin tried to avoid and cover up for Scott Rubin, but still love his work. It's a nostalgic West Wing/Lin Manuel Miranda patriotism from a time before loving the USA meant being a white Christo-nationalist. E pluribus unum and all that

Well, to each their own. I finally fully understood what people meant by "hate watching" when I watched every single episode. :)
