Quick, deflect from elected representatives that you support utilizing one of the oldest justifications for Anti-Semitism.

I now question whether you know what the terms "race" or "racism" mean, considering that German is a nationality, not a race.

Well, race isn’t exactly a scientific term, you know. Unquestionably, the Germans of the time considered themselves a separate and distinct race of humans, correctly or incorrectly. Even today, we can’t agree on how to categorize humans, what to call those categories, or even who gets a capital letter and who doesn’t.

You just won the award for how many strawman arguments can one person introduce in three sentences.
    1. I didn't say race was a scientific term.
    2. It doesn't matter if people incorrectly thought that they were one distinct race of humans.
    3. We aren't trying to categorize human anthropology in this thread.
    4. OP wasn't referring to Jews of the past in a specific geographic location, he said Jews as in all Jewish people from antiquity to current times, so there is no reason to have a discussion about what Germans in a specific time period thought.

I’m not looking to be ornery. Apologies if I came across that way. I’m just saying there’s broad disagreement on what race is and isn’t. It’s a matter of opinion. Some people, for instance, consider Jewish people a distinct race and others insist it’s strictly a religious practice. I don’t think, presently, there’s a right or wrong answer. Maybe Germanic peoples are a race, and maybe they are ethnic group in a larger (for lack of a better term) white race. I don’t know. I have often wondered what we humans would come up with if the subject could be discussed dispassionately. But of course we aren’t there yet.

If you had read Gershom Goernberg's 2000 book The End of Days you would know how close we came. A group of right-wing nut-jobs in Texas have been working with Orthodox Jews to produce a pure red heifer. In 1997, they bred one into existence, and The Temple Institute declared the beast Kosher. However, just as it turned of age (maybe 3) it sprouted 4 white hairs around the nose and was deemed unsuitable for sacrifice. In September of 2022, 5 pure red heifers were sent from Texas to a West Bank farm. These 5 have also been declared Kosher and The Temple Institute continue to monitor their growth to determine if any are the "pure red cow" are ready for sacrifice.

The exact significance will require someone with a Jewish education to explain further. I am just a Catholic guy who read a few books.

I have no interest in this specific Jews killed Jesus question, but, and I can’t believe In saying this, I agree with Gaetz’s overall argument here. Making a specific kind of criticism illegal seems like a terribly unAmerican policy. Who is in charge of deciding when someone has accused a Jewish person of exaggerating the holocaust? Who is even in charge of determining who is Jewish?

Ah! A link that adds some context to whatever point the OP was trying to make. How novel!

I want to do one of those at least once so I can say I did it.

Gotta pick my moment carefully though to make it count.

Your question assumes the policy is meant to be enforced objectively. FWIW, even the guy who came up with the criteria the bill is based on created it for data collection/research purposes and has stated it should never be adopted in this manner.

True, where would Christianity be today if Jesus hadn't died for their sins. "Jesus lived a long and fruitful life for your sins" doesn't sound as good. Would there still be an Easter Bunny? Probably not. Thanks Jews.

Maybe we should ask Germany for their preferred pronouns.
