bots are more about quantity, not quality. “Digital forensic experts in Germany have uncovered a vast, pro-Russia disinformation campaign against the government using tens of thousands of fake accounts on the social media platform X. “More than 1m German-language posts were sent from an estimated 50,000 fake accounts, amounting to a rate of two every second.” Germany unearths pro-Russia disinformation campaign on X
Hopefully Isarael does the right thing here but I doubt they give them to Ukraine as they should. The US should require it if Israel wants the aid just committed to them. Ukraine Eyes Israel's Retired Patriots (msn.com) Israel's decision to retire its American-made Patriot air defense systems may open a window of opportunity for Ukraine, which through two years of Russia's full-scale war has struggled to stop Moscow's missiles and drones striking targets nationwide. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Tuesday that the country will phase out its Patriot surface-to-air missile systems in favor of more modern homegrown air defenses like the Iron Dome, David's Sling, and Arrow platforms. Israel's Patriot systems will be withdrawn within the next two months, The Times of Israel newspaper said. It is unclear what will happen to the systems. The IDF Spokesperson's Unit declined Newsweek's request for comment on its future plans for the withdrawn systems "It would be logical if Israel would give us their Patriot systems, because it would help us—in particular—to destroy Iranian drones used by Russia," Oleksandr Merezhko, a member of the Ukrainian parliament and the chair of the body's foreign affairs committee, told Newsweek.
Was that the last straw for you? Are you now ready to see Russia as the enemy instead of as an indirect means to get Trump back in the White House? I mean, once they’ve come for Harry Potter, what other kind of outrage is off limits?
Castle…It’s not where they actually filmed Harry Potter. Was just attempting some levity. All kidding aside, the Russians are making it clear Ukraine is a red line with these types of strikes.
So you weren’t sure with the invasion, but now that they took out a fancy law school with one of their, er, precision strikes, you are now sure Ukraine is a redline for them?
Well, some of us seem to think if we can wait it out, that red line will begin to fade... I am simply re-confirming that is not the case.
Perhaps you misunderstand that sometimes redlines overlap. Someone is going to have to move theirs, one way or another.
I don't agree we have two red lines here. Russia has a red line they draw with their own blood, at their own border. NATO has a yellow imaginary line they use to send Ukrainian troops into a meat grinder from thousands of miles away. You might say Ukraine has a red line, but they can't establish much of any line without western support who aren't willing to put their own troops in the field. This isn't a small point, which is why I've made it and continue to make it. Russia will risk it all to keep Ukraine in the sphere. The U.S. is simply not willing to do that for Ukraine.
Well, look at that. A point of agreement. I absolutely support Russia having a redline at their border, painted with their blood or children’s watercolors or whatever. And I kindly invite them to get onto their side of it before they have an excess of painting material.
Harry Potter’s castle not enough. Russia is rolling SITREP 5/1/24: The Russian Steamroller Rolls On as Ukraine Braces for Impact
I doubt the math adds up here. In 2020 a "Russian not farm" was found to have been set up by the Democrats. 0er Mike Benz in a interview by Tucker Carlson that Is posted here. All the so called Russian bots would have to do to win any argument would be to post true facts. Is:t that how every Democrat and anti-Trumper got blown out to n the Ukraine War thread by diggers,_dad (and to a much lesser extent, me)?
I needed to read this given the fact that maps showing change of control of terrain has not been that positive of late. I realize there are other factors such as the Debian defenses by, but still, this is a nice framing
I read some article on this. When the war started Russia went into military preparedness overdrive. They are only getting stronger.
Why would that surprise you? Putin is involved in an unnecessary war that he feels, correctly or not, will result in his political downfall and the loss of all of his goodies (perhaps even his life) if he doesn’t pull off something he can call victory at home. The only real surprise is, why haven’t we gone into military preparedness overdrive to match Russia and its unholy alliance of totalitarian states?
News must travel slow in Russia, seeing as how Putin recently secured +87% of the vote, the bulk of the +12% he didn’t get probably Russians exasperated that he’s not going hard enough in Ukraine.
