Woke up to a lot on silliness on these threads from overnight posts. That's what happens when the pravda crowd is in a different time zone I guess.

Euro countries are rounding up Ukrainian men and sending them back to their home country so they can be forced to serve on the front lines. Too Hot Biden supporters are willing to sacrifice a few hundred thousand more Ukrainians so they can "degrade Russia."

Ukraine is just a tool to be tossed when it breaks..

    ‘We stormed without support’
Some Ukrainian servicemen with Brigade 155, which took over the town’s defence, blame its fall on their commanders’ mistakes.

“My company was literally destroyed, we carried out tasks in the worst conditions and no one cared, we stormed without support and with stupid command, we defended with almost no support and with the same stupid command,” one of the servicemen wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

I suppose the happiness, among Russians, could be explained by a sense of Russia “finding itself”, realizing that it’s its own country which does not need the West …

Ryazan refinery suffers major damage in overnight drone strike - Russian media (msn.com)
The attack, which occurred last night, resulted in one of the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) crashing into the ELOW-ATT, a crucial oil processing unit at the refinery. Russian authorities have not reported any casualties from the incident.

Primary processing units, vital components of oil refineries, are custom-built to specific enterprise needs and can cost tens of millions of dollars. These units are essential for separating crude oil into various fractions through the use of pressure, temperature, and catalysts within distillation columns.
    .....
Previous strike on Ryazan refinery was reported on March 13. It is Rosneft's largest plant. Two primary oil refining units were shut down back then, Reuters reported, citing sources. This refinery processes about 4.6% of Russia's total oil output, and a significant portion of its products is exported. Capacity of this refinery is 17.1 million tons of oil per year.

Since the end of January, Ukraine has been regularly striking oil refineries in Russia with long-range drones. In total, Security Service carried out at least 13 successful attacks on Russian refineries, according to SBU Head Vasyl Malyuk. According to him, as a result, oil production and refining in Russia decreased by 12%.

Surprise F-16 Update Issued by Ukraine (newsweek.com)

Ukraine will start operating F-16s after Orthodox Easter on May 5, Kyiv has said, as the country contends with devastating Russian bombardment and the long wait for the Western-made fighter jets.

"We are waiting," Ukrainian air force spokesperson Ilya Yevlash said, adding the jets will be taking to the skies over the war-torn country "after Easter," according to remarks reported by Ukrainian media on Wednesday.

Concerning listen. Really hope to get this book

Ryan sat down with three friends to talk about the war in Ukraine through the lens of a new edited volume on the topic. Enjoy this conversation with Andrea Kendall-Taylor (former CIA), Hal Brands, and Alexander Bick (former National Security Council staff), which surfaces some important disagreements and debates about the war and international order. Oh, and also buy War in Ukraine: Conflict, Strategy, and the Return of a Fractured World. Please note this was recorded shortly before the U.S. Congress passed the security supplemental, which included aid for Ukraine.

great news. Many different estimates of when they would be ready - from early this year to next spring. I’m sure they are pushing f16s into service asap as Russia is bombing infrastructure and civilians.

“The attack followed a Russian airstrike on Monday evening that killed five people and wounded about 30 others”

Bombing civilians is what the Ukrainians have been doing, not the Russians.
