Can anyone see any visual differences in the way he’s pitching this year? Anything on his follow through? For a while I thought his arm slot was higher this year but I compared some footage and it looks about the same. Only thing I can think of is that there seems to be a greater emphasis on fastball above the zone for swing and miss this year. I guess he’s just been missing those and throwing it down the pipe. Last year he did a really good job staying at the bottom of the zone and inducing ground balls. He wasn’t really a strikeout guy. Unless he’s lost the ability do that I don’t see why we don’t play to that strength more.
Man on 1B / 1 out B/F/Kc/F (I think that one hit Sully’s car) - Cags HBP. He grabs the ball and throws it back to Earl.
Men on 1B & 2B / 1 out New Earl is #29 Jr RHP Beaty (12.79, 0-1, 6.1 IP) B/B - Shelton hits to short, who boots it, but they get Cags at 2B
He looks to me like he’s just swinging his legs through his mechanics as opposed to driving down and through his mechanics. This generally creates some arm drag which is going to cause armside misses. To me it’s largely in his mechanics, the above mentioned issue from flying open too early and then he will overcompensate but his back stays up and he twists through his finish. He’s got to drive down and through his pitches to regain consistency IMHO.
Ump calling an excellent game but he has a horrible arm . If ur an ump and u have a bad arm give the ball to the catcher
