ESPN has us #9, right behind #8 Texas A&M who holds the final Super Regional host position. Gee, no pressure this weekend or anything!
A sweepable series for the orange and blue. First things first got an important midweek game, a revenge game perhaps.
My take on this weekend. Win 1 and a top 16 seed. 2 and a possible 8 seed. 3 or more automatic top 8 seed. Even if they have a bad weekend it would be sad but makes no difference because this group along with next year's class will get us to the promised land.
I’ve always known because you can just feel in your bones how much of a Gator fan someone is. Kyle Crooks is absolutely amazing and probably doesn’t get the love he deserves from us. Whoever posted his call when Jocey went yard in the seventh thankyou so much. Mr. Crooks thank you for being perhaps the biggest sunshine pusher of all! Love ya mate!
I could listen to that call on loop forever and be happy. Sadly we ain’t done making memories yet, new memories start tomorrow round bell ringin time! Go Gators!
I love his look over his right shoulder after his justified outburst! I imagine that look was towards a suddenly surly uga announcer lmao. Priceless
For a top 8 seed in addition to finishing these last 4 games strong I think we will need a strong performance in the SEC tournament.
I honestly feel like of we win 3 out of the 4 games and 2 games in the SEC tourney we lock a top 8 seed. Maybe even I game in the tourney jsut depends on who we play. Making a good impression on the field at the end of the season means a lot to the committee in the past. Also matters what happens around us. If LSU wets the bed again they're out i think. A&M has to win... they have no top 10 wins. Duke is also in that position. Arkansas I think is precarious also. And we have head to head over UCLA.
I'm just all in with this team... they are proud to be gators and so much fun to watch. I truly belive they will be in OKC.
Finishing strong will no doubt help the Gators. But SOS is helping both LSU & Georgia. LSU's SOS is #4 and they have played 25 games against Top 25 RPI teams, going 14-11. Georgia's SOS is #3 and they have 27 games vs Top 25 teams, going 14-13. Texas A&M's SOS is #32 and they've only played 13 games against Top 25 teams, going 7-6. Arkansas's SOS is #9, with 17 games vs. Top 25, going 11-6. Florida's SOS is up to #22 and we have 18 games against Top 25 teams, going 11-7. That's all per D1 Softball. Florida State's SOS is #18, but they only have 9 games played against Top 25 teams and they're 3-6. In the DSR rankings, LSU is #6, Texas A&M #7, FSU #8, Georgia #11, Florida #12, Missouri #13, Arkansas #14. In the KPI rankings, Arkansas is #8, Texas A&M #9, LSU #10, Florida #11, Missouri #12, Georgia #13, FSU #14. There's a real jumble after the Top 5 or so and this final weekend, plus tonight, will make a huge difference in where Florida ends up, as all of these teams are within a hair of one another.
Way to technical for me Ocala. If you finish higher in the final SEC standings and won the series you deserve a higher national seed. Our ladies took the series from both LSU & GA, finished above them in the SEC so they deserve a higher national seed.
Understand what you're saying, but the selection committee will talk about the "whole body of work" and LSU & Georgia will be rewarded for playing a harder OOC schedule and the Gators will be punished for playing a very weak OOC schedule. Things could still happen this week and in the SEC tournament to affect the seedings, but the way things stand right now, what Florida might deserve and what they will get are 2 different things.
