Happens dozens of times every single day. If you own a dog and it happens to go off leash off your property and so much as nips one of your neighbors, pray they don’t report it to animal control. Because animal control will put your dog down all day in a heartbeat, without a thought. The law requires it. As @OklahomaGator pointed out, it took a lot of courage for Noem to do this. She could have easily had someone else do this for her, but she handled it herself. This is only partially accurate, a local govt might put down a dog if bites a child or it has a history (on record) or if it’s a very serious biting attack. It’s not going to just take it, there is a “due process” of sorts. Most dog owners would be resistant to having their dog euthanized for minor incidents and would fight the govt. Over a few chickens? Come on. Have you ever even owned a dog? The issue for the zilionth time with the Noem situation, is that it was a 14 month old pup, too young to be fully trained as a working dog, and literally nobody asked her to put it down. By all means though, I highly encourage this woman to be Trumps VP pick and run on how much “courage “ it took to shoot a 14 month old pup in the head. I’ll have my popcorn ready.
