Dudes car was broken into. Happened in the back of my bougie neighborhood last weekend. I can’t decide if it is funny and means my neighborhood is a shithole until I find out my neighbors politics.

I guess I can’t understand how it can simultaneously suck and be good. What I’d prefer is if we based our judgements on what happens instead of to whom it happens. Did you also see karma in the threads about COVID deniers who died from the disease?

I assumed not. Why do you see karma here and not there while others see the opposite? It’s because our judgments are based on who and not what.

"At least we have love," these deceptive and false words were soon belied by the vindictive declaration it was "good it happened to a person like him." Schadenfreude is a warped emotion celebrating the misfortune of others. It does not emanate from a place of love or compassion.

You shouldn’t cast harsh judgment when you don’t know this persons heart.

Whether it is intentional or not, people posting on this forum often reveal much of what is within their hearts. My discernment of his own words indicate contradictions in his declaration of love and his expression of pleasure at Schiff's misfortune.

Whether I judged him or not is another matter. And what's wrong with judging per se? It's a necessary function in navigating life's circumstances and dealing with people. Problems associated or linked to judgement stem from hypocrites who judge others by one set of standards while living their own lives with lower standards. To one degree or another we all fail to rigorously meet our own expectations. As we judge, so we are judged.

I'll judge. Someone who claims love in his heart is celebrating an innocent person being the target of a crime simply because of the victim's political positions? That's not love. And tells me a lot about a person.

And to what end is the celebration? To say people with different opinions should be targeted as crime victims? Or to show a city the OP maybe has never visited has crime? And speaking of San Francisco, crime isn't zero, but it's been trending down. So, what's the OP's point again?

    That is hardly conclusive Davis.
Is the crime occurring in the cities of these red states? I would guess yes.
You’re looking at it from a macro level.

Good post. I’m all about discernment and using skilled judgment based on experiences.
That said, I used the word harsh…maybe he deserves it , perhaps not.

Maybe it's more about demographics and not states per se?
