She had no love or empathy for the dog. That isn't courage, it was just hatred and anger put onto a defenseless animal.
Allright....off ignore...for this one post. All muder is homicide, but not all homicide is muder. BFD. The actual point stands--both refer to the killing OF a human being BY a human being. An accidental death by other than a human being is neither. ....and most certainly the killing of a non-human being, is likewise neither. What a cheap ass point you pretended to make. Back on ignore with you, where your shitty posts belong.
How are you so sure justification isn’t warranted? You don’t have all the details. Some animals have bad wiring. If it was a danger to others, that’s the reason. She looks bad for bragging about, but that’s it. You’re hate for all things red is making you look worse than Noem.
A pretty stunning error to make for someone who claims to have gone to law school. By the way, I corrected "cause of death" to "manner of death" in my post. Have a nice day.
Anything to own the libs. It is all they exist for at this time. They can’t articulate a vision for a greater good but they can express hatred and bother others. That’s the whole point.
I'll meet y'all this far--I do not approve of the killing of her dog--to a lesser extent, her goat too. I might go so far as to say, both were even shitty. I'll take it a step further still, and say her boasting about it is not only tone deaf, but actually a cause for concern, because while killing animals may be justifiable, it's generally presumed not so, with exceptions--such as hunting, fishing, bull fighting, ranching, killing to eat, self defense, euthanasia.... (none of which appear to be applicable here). These killings appear to have been done out of convenience, with scant attempts to exhaust alternatives. So not the type of conduct one would generally classify as something worth boasting about, and more likely than not, even cause for concern. ...and yet there's the overshadowing concern of what's transpiring across the aisle, that makes all such things as this, appear negotiable. That's kinda where we're at. Cest la vie.
GatorDmz. One trick pony in the arena of law who seems to think all law is encompassed in the criminal code and it's jurisprudence....bc that's all he knows. Well, him and a who's who in redundancy, rabbit holes, trolls, fly by neg bombers, and other such consistent wastes of time. (I'm guessing if you have to ask, either your already ignoring him, or he saved you the trouble).
Oh you're one of those people who say if you say a certain buzz word, they are all of a sudden attributed to one side or another? That is such a small minded and childish way of thinking. To think, this is coming from those who claim to be intelectually superior. Can you not do any better than this? It's truly pathetic and right on course with the leftist marching orders around here. One day you guys will actually show the intelligence you claim. Not today, apparently. Literally here saying I support abortion and somehow Im fringe right. I support gay marriage but somehow Im fringe right. I support legalizing some drugs but Im fringe right. Seriously, get a better argument. You are lazy and intelectually dishonest. UF must not teach critical thinking or something because you're about as simple as they come.
Well its one of the biggest things people on the right say, especially the uber religious right feel that the left is pushing their way of life onto others. Do you not believe that in some ways the left is trying to dictate the way you raise your children? Thats half of Trumps campaign message outside of China/Russia/Ukraine. Both sides are trying to dictate what they feel is "normal". When one side or both decide not to be hypocritical, we can move forward.
This wasn’t exactly Democrats going out trying to dredge up some long-forgotten unknown story. Kristi Noem herself decided to publish it in her book that comes out in a week. And, as the Guardian story about this blow-up notes, her own book concludes the anecdote about the day she decided she needed to kill her bad puppy and stinky goat by saying she guesses that, if she was a better politician, she probably shouldn’t be sharing this story, which is probably the political understatement of the year. She’s an idiot who thought it could somehow conceivably be a good idea to publish a book in the election year when she was a likely VP candidate that includes a discussion about how she hated her puppy and killed it for misbehaving. While I don’t disagree that Dems go looking for mud to sling, they didn’t have to here - she’s got little enough good sense that she went out and did it for them.
How many cows have died to stuff beef into HeyItsMe's face over the last 70 years? Noem has no chance of being Trump's VP
Fair take other than I would say you aren't exactly quoting her fairly and I would say this its all about context. It wasn't simply a bad puppy. This is more about local farm politics than anything else. Killing an animal that causes problems (IE, cost you money) is par for the course on a farm. Seriously, if that pushes the needle some of you (not necessarily saying you, Ben) wouldn't last a day on a farm without your head exploding. If a dog eats another farmers chickens and also tries to bite their owner, its a gonner. Either the neighbor will do it and you have more problems or you have to simply do it yourself to "make good" in a way. The goat, who knows? Like I said, unruly animals cost you money on a farm and not all farmers are mega rich. I agree though, not a good thing to necessarily push forward and make light of. That is pretty stupid, especially in an election year. They should play to their base but isn't the name of the game also getting votes and trying to get others to join you? Left leaning folks have the majority of animal lovers and non-meat eaters and probably hate most everything about farm life due to those beliefs. Bringing that up didn't help her cause or Trumps if he decided to choose her. Just plain dumb.
It. Was. 14. Months. Old. Barely more than a puppy. Also, she is the one who disclosed these events. We can only go by what she said. Even for an older dog, killing it over a few chickens seems crazy. I can see if the farmer demanded it, she specically said he didn’t. For a younger dog you train it. She decided to kill it. I’m not buying this “untrainable dog” nonsense. I’ve had plenty of dogs in my life, several raised from pups (others adopted). As others have pointed out you don’t even start training working dogs at that age (or at best they are just starting). So to call it “wired wrong” or untrainable is horseshit.
Been on a lot of farms a lot of days. Never seen someone put down a healthy dog for a one off bad day. That isn't farm culture, most folks even try and find a different home for a problem critter unless it is a serial predator
The barrier across the aisle is there because our enemies have used our own freedom of press and distrusts to build it. One individual in particular has been extremely helpful in furthering that division.
