The Atlanta Falcons pulled off the biggest shocker of the NFL draft Thursday night, taking Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. with the No. 8 pick. And that stunned feeling extended to incumbent quarterback Kirk Cousins. The Falcons made the pick despite signing veteran quarterback Cousins to a four-year, $180 million contract last month in free agency. Agent: Cousins confused by Falcons' Penix pick
I dont follow the respective teams enough to comment on needs, but Id take Williams based on my limited views, but nobody asked me.
Who could have imagined JC Lathem and Bo Nix would get drafted ahead of Brock Bowers. Do you think Lathem or Nix will get you any TDs in the next 5 years? I hate Uga, but Bowers is the type of player that sheds defenses. Lathem wasn't even considered a great Bama OL guy.
Super stoked that Pearsall kept our first round draft pick streak alive! Went to a great team too. Go win one, Ricky!
Teams needed a QB more than a TE at that point in the draft? I think Bowers is going to be incredible but for a team to take him over a QB, assuming those teams needed a QB more, Bowers would have to be perceived to be more important than their TE roster and a back up, perhaps future QB, combined.
When you factor in how many UF players left UF in the past three to four years, it still is amazing that UF had some first round draft picks. It would be interesting to track how many former Gators in that time span became first round draft picks. Hopefully next year, and he years to follow, UF can continue that streak with multiple first round draft picks per year.

100%. Pretty much every game against anyone actually decent, Williams disappeared. Measurables don’t mean much if you get stage fright.
