In the thread from the midweek game we all want to forget (thankfully our players did) someone was asking about my extensive knowledge of NIL. I have none but I read. I posted the title of the article there, you’ll have to google and do the rest on your own. I think it’s worth reading. Apologies for my lack of tech expertise lol.
I was there. The end of the Gator OKC championship run and the beginning of Oklahoma’s. Great game nonetheless and I stayed for all 17 heart thumping innings.
OMG that was fun to watch last night. So happy to see adjustments with the offense. Several key hits that weren’t HR swings, but strategically aimed through the gaps. Bunts that were executed, sacrifices perfected, stolen bases galore. Pitching improving, with better location and some improvement with pitch calls. Most of all, our Gators finding the will and desire to fight back from loss and imperfection, and saying that mid-week game doesn’t define us. For me that is what Amanda’s excitement and praise mean. This could be a portent of the great things to come for this team. Go Gators!
This really is a special group! With a year of experience under their belt and incoming reinforcements it will actually be hard to not win a few nattys in the coming years.
Most programs out there would kill to have the success we’re enjoying right now and we’re going through growing pains. Go Gators!
Tough game today. Ava just ran out of gas and the pitching depth just isn't there. But this team always battles and keeps their heads up. Get the win tomorrow and keep pluggin'!
Looking ahead to Wednesday......does anyone know anything about "the berm/SRO" at FSU? Our group has always been able to nab tix on the secondary market in the past, but this year it looks like berm is the only thing available. Funny thing is, I don't remember a berm despite having been there many times. Is this like KSP berm where its just way down near the outfield wall? (I do remember that FSU doesn't bother to plant grass in the on-deck area and has astroturf -- lacks class).
FYI. I compared conference statistics of the top five softball teams per D1Softball to that of our beloved Gators. TX. 334 2.15 OK. 357 2.64 TEN. 262 1.39 OK ST. 268 2.37 A&M 250. 2.95 Ave. 294 2.30 Gators 289 4.36 As you can see the Gators very competitive in BA but world's away in the pitching department. Hope it gets better
