Yes, they can be on the field during practice and can participate in drills. They’re also allowed on the field during games. They’re not allowed to “actively coach” during games, but if you’ve watched any football games in the last ten years, you see them all over the sidelines doing just that during almost every game. They’re also not really allowed to recruit off campus, but they do that too and there are loopholes that allow it.

Exactly and if I’m not mistaken, the big thing is, they don’t get a headset

We’re allowed 20 headsets in total. Pretty sure the analysts are allowed to use them. 15 are designated for coaches, and there’s not 15 “on field” coaches. People who continue to make a huge deal about this just simply don’t know what they’re talking about. The analysts coach, the analyst are allowed on the field, the analysts participate in pretty much everything.

Hell the same guys throwing fits about this are the same ones saying we’re going to lose lagway because his primary recruiter went to tamu. That guy was not his primary at all, and was an analyst that supposedly can’t do anything but sit in a room and analyze things in silence. That guy is so important that we’re going to lose our prized recruit, but the guy they hate is just an analyst who’s not allowed to do anything.

He said special teams performed well and compared their ranking to others which doesnt correlate with what we saw each Saturday...Spurrier and Kirby have won championships with whatever system they are using on special teams. Just because something works for those guys it doesnt mean it works with our team...and to be frank ..it didnt last year or the prior year. They also dont lose games because of REPEATED screw ups...inability to get plays in and inability to run a two minute offense, poor/god awful time management to end halves etc etc. ST is a glaring disaster on our team for two years...its not a glaring disaster for Kirby and it wasnt for SOS regardless of who is on field or not. BN has made his small change so hopefully we look like Urbans special teams performance this year. Rolling out 10 for the final field goal in the O&B doesnt make me think the problem is solved though.

A glaring disaster is histrionics. We had miscues that need to be corrected, yes. The numbers in the kicking game don't back up your narrative. The numbers suggest very good kickers and good coverage. Spurs had some much worse st at times and took them over just like he did with defense at times. The whining about Napier is out of proportion on things that matter less when the focus should be on the defense. The defense is what will give him the axe if he doesn't correct it.

Your post reminded me of the fake punt Meyer ran in our 06/07 SECCG vs Arkansas. Holy moly that was a thing of beauty. Still to me one of the all time great Gator games.
