Also Georgia had more arrests over the same period of time when urban was here and again, the narrative was that it was only florida that ran a rogue program. I certainly think urban ran a loose program but the point is that Florida suffers scrutiny moreso than a number of other programs for some reason.
Carter got of light. Typical UGA. He left the scene of an accident and made false statements to police. One of those is a felony in Georgia. If I was a parent of a 4-5 star football player there is no way I would send him to Kirby. But kids that want to do anything with no repercussions UGA is the place to be. If you want to throw out an allegation like that, then say who AH killed, precisely where (no, Gainesville, won’t be sufficient), the date, and by what means. USA Today has an article that mentions in passing Hernandez being questioned by the Gainesville police for a shooting in Gainesville. It also says he was asked not to return for his senior year. Not a convicted shooter but his gangbanging ways started before he got to Gainesville and didn’t stop here.
That’s all extremely vague. I can see why one of our rivals might bite at that because they want it to be true, but I think the actual truth about AH is bad enough without having to make anything up.

If there’s an actual specific accusation about AH during his time at Gainesville, I’m prepared to believe it if the evidence suggests I should. But I’m not biting on “I heard he shot a nameless, faceless person in the central Florida area sometime between January 2007 and December 2009.”

In your post you make the clear implication that AH definitely committed murder while at UF and just wasn't caught. I knew that article would be what you are referring to and now that you have admitted it is obvious you are speaking out of complete ignorance. All the happened was that the Boston prosecutors for his murder charge briefly looked into a shooting in Gainesville (shooting, not murder) because AH happened to be mentioned. He was never a suspect and 3 seconds with the police report you can tell it is clear he was not involved. The Boston prosecutors realized that and dropped the matter in a flash. But it has been constantly sensationalized by our opponents and people like you ever since. As terrible a person as he was, the worst thing AH did at UF was punch a bouncer. If you are going to accuse a former player of murder and by implication accuse the University of covering it up, please as others have requested know what the flying flip you are talking about. I apologize for my tone but the fact that this myth never dies bugs the crap out of me.
You’re unreasonably hard on Napier, but over time I’ve come to the assumption that it’s probably just your nature. You're probably hard on everybody. But I’ve seen other perspectives from you and don’t think you’re a troll. My definition of a troll has nothing to do with whether or not someone agrees with me. I define troll as someone who has nothing but negativity, attacks, and sarcasm to say about our team. I believe those people are purposefully driving an agenda against our team — to generate as much negativity against the Florida Gators as possible, likely in an effort to help the cause of another team - a rival of UF.

Everything else is of course is speculation but the facts of the case are troubling because it involves Hernandez, a convicted murderer. There was a shooting, two shot, both lived. Hernandez was seen by witnesses in the area. Hernandez matched the description of the shooter given by a witness. Other disputed this. Hernandez was questioned and released. Case remains unsolved. It is easy to point fingers and say somebody should or could have known, especially since he has assaulted someone six months prior to the shooting but nobody intentionally covered for a killer. You take chances on players, many kids grow up and clean up their acts and I’m sure that was the hope with Hernandez. What makes the Georgia situation more troubling is that UGA staff members were directly involved.
You are imagining things. I am positive about today’s players. I am positive about the men’s basketball team. I rarely post on threads during the off-season except in too hot and I am not a known troll there either.
