And Jalen Carter left the scene of a racing accident while his friends were dying but they have suffered no repercussions. Also Georgia had more arrests over the same period of time when urban was here and again, the narrative was that it was only florida that ran a rogue program. You are a pretty reasoned poster on the other forum but I'm not getting you on this one. I certainly think urban ran a loose program but the point is that Florida suffers scrutiny moreso than a number of other programs for some reason.
Carter got of light. Typical UGA. He left the scene of an accident and made false statements to police. One of those is a felony in Georgia. If I was a parent of a 4-5 star football player there is no way I would send him to Kirby. But kids that want to do anything with no repercussions UGA is the place to be. Maybe one day the national media will expose them. Not holding my breath.
So AH was a murderer here? In Gainesville? I don't remember that- can you provide proof of such a serious allegation?
To hell with proof. This isn’t a court, and AH is dead. I’ll settle for four of the five Ws. If you want to throw out an allegation like that, then say who AH killed, precisely where (no, Gainesville, won’t be sufficient), the date, and by what means. Don’t even care about the motive, but if he’s got that, too, then great.
Could you answer my question please... I'm not calling you a troll... I'll tell you why I'm asking... I was in the park w/ grandchildren when an idiot Dawg fan started jawing at me about CBN on Good Friday. On and on. I said something about the ETN DUI and a culture out of control. I should not have engaged, I know. Then he started on the same thing you just said. We had an murderer on our team. I said- that was after he left UF. :OH NO. That was in Gainesville." He then repeated it many times... So yeah- I really need to know... So obviously there are reasons he said it. And I'm sure there is a reason YOU just posted it... So go ahead and please- tell everyone when this happened... I need to know though I will not engage w/ any UGA idiots again...
Whether he's a troll or not, I'd like to know the answer... An idiotic UGA fan trying to deflect their HORRIBLE record re DUI is one thing. But a guy who claims to be a Gator, who prides himself on being a smart guy (based on other posts), should have a good reason to say this. I'd like to know. Does he have an in w/ the GPD? Was he an insider w/ Urban Meyer and knows about this great coverup? AS the poster above me says- we don't need proof. Just some Ws. AH is dead, Meyer is long gone... There's no reason to hold back these inside sources this poster must have to make such an allegation... Please enlighten us... Or apologize and take back the allegation...
USA Today has an article that mentions in passing Hernandez being questioned by the Gainesville police for a shooting in Gainesville. It also says he was asked not to return for his senior year. Not a convicted shooter but his gangbanging ways started before he got to Gainesville and didn’t stop here.
That’s all extremely vague. I can see why one of our rivals might bite at that because they want it to be true, but I think the actual truth about AH is bad enough without having to make anything up.
Yeah, but you’ve said the same thing about me, proud 1999 graduate and true Son of Spurrier. Why? Because I have expressed doubts (along with hope) about the future of this coaching staff based — fairly, I think — on its performance to date. The definition of a troll is not someone with an opinion not lockstep with yours. Now, on the subject of AH, we agree. If there’s an actual specific accusation about AH during his time at Gainesville, I’m prepared to believe it if the evidence suggests I should. But I’m not biting on “I heard he shot a nameless, faceless person in the central Florida area sometime between January 2007 and December 2009.”
I am not going to comment one way on your intentions but your post is the exact disinformation BS that @distantGator is talking about with his UGA fan encounter. In your post you make the clear implication that AH definitely committed murder while at UF and just wasn't caught. I knew that article would be what you are referring to and now that you have admitted it is obvious you are speaking out of complete ignorance. All the happened was that the Boston prosecutors for his murder charge briefly looked into a shooting in Gainesville (shooting, not murder) because AH happened to be mentioned. He was never a suspect and 3 seconds with the police report you can tell it is clear he was not involved. The Boston prosecutors realized that and dropped the matter in a flash. But it has been constantly sensationalized by our opponents and people like you ever since. As terrible a person as he was, the worst thing AH did at UF was punch a bouncer. If you are going to accuse a former player of murder and by implication accuse the University of covering it up, please as others have requested know what the flying flip you are talking about. I apologize for my tone but the fact that this myth never dies bugs the crap out of me.
You’re unreasonably hard on Napier, but over time I’ve come to the assumption that it’s probably just your nature. You're probably hard on everybody. But I’ve seen other perspectives from you and don’t think you’re a troll. My definition of a troll has nothing to do with whether or not someone agrees with me. I define troll as someone who has nothing but negativity, attacks, and sarcasm to say about our team. I believe those people are purposefully driving an agenda against our team — to generate as much negativity against the Florida Gators as possible, likely in an effort to help the cause of another team - a rival of UF.
So this is hilarious... As I said I wanted to know more, honestly, so I googled USA Today Aaron Hernandez GAinesville murder... This was the first hit... Florida cops: Hernandez not suspect in '07 shooting Excerpt... Police in Gainesville, Fla., conducted a "thorough investigation" into a 2007 shooting and concluded that Aaron Hernandez was not a suspect, Officer Ben Tobias told USA TODAY Sports last week. ESPN's Outside the Lines reported Wednesday that police in Massachusetts wanted to learn more about the incident in 2007 in which two men were shot inside a vehicle. Both men survived. "The description of the shooter was a black male. It was not even remotely close to Mr. Hernandez's color or build," Tobias said. "We did a thorough investigation at that point, and it did not lead to him whatsoever." Another hit is from the WaPo and tells a longer story, but with the same conclusion... https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...lvement-in-a-2007-double-shooting-in-florida/ Excerpts... The shooter, Cason said at the time, matched the description of Hernandez and he identified the other man as Nelson. But multiple other witnesses described a shooter who did not look like Hernandez, saying it was a black male, possibly with cornrows and wearing a green shirt. When Cason was interviewed a second time by detectives, he rescinded his identifications of Nelson and Hernandez as the two men involved in the shooting. So the articles say there was a thorough investigation and it was clear AH didn't do it. Plus it was actually a shooting, not a murder, and you post that AH was a murderer. Wow! Maybe check your sources next time... On the other hand, is there any doubt Etienne endangered a lot of innocents on the road around AThens in March?? Yet I bet he's playing this fall!
Everything else is of course is speculation but the facts of the case are troubling because it involves Hernandez, a convicted murderer. There was a shooting, two shot, both lived. Hernandez was seen by witnesses in the area. Hernandez matched the description of the shooter given by a witness. Other disputed this. Hernandez was questioned and released. Case remains unsolved. It is easy to point fingers and say somebody should or could have known, especially since he has assaulted someone six months prior to the shooting but nobody intentionally covered for a killer. You take chances on players, many kids grow up and clean up their acts and I’m sure that was the hope with Hernandez. What makes the Georgia situation more troubling is that UGA staff members were directly involved.
You are imagining things. I am positive about today’s players. I am positive about the men’s basketball team. I rarely post on threads during the off-season except in too hot and I am not a known troll there either.
