And Earl lefty #2 is doing exactly what their pitching coach walked out the LF line and told him to do—wake up and smell the coffee!
Wouldn't surprise me if it was rosin + forearm sweat but the lack of fight from Corbin is puzzling. Maybe he didn't want to risk being thrown out too?
Just flat out irresponsible of the sideline reporter to question the ejection when she has no idea what the umpires discovered.
Absolutely! Looking at the Vandy home/road stat splits, it's so obvious that Vandy is doing some cheating at home. Probably stealing pitches too.
Man on 2B / 2 outs B/Ks/B/Ks/B/ Earl sits due to Umps deciding there’s something illegal on his arm. New Earl is #89 Fr LHP McElvain (3.38, 1-2, 24.0 IP). Oops, he pulls something during warm ups. Next Earl is #33 Fr RHP Guth (0.00, 1-0, 3.0 IP) B - Russell walks
That’s what all the mlb pitchers were using. Sunscreen and rosin, they said it’s the same as spider tack.
Donay... he can hit the occasional long ball…like the blind squirrel finding the acorn but a very poor approach at the plate..
Since it is a pitcher they have to sit enough games to miss a potential start. Just like what happened to Neely. But doctoring the ball to me is a much more serious offense that celebrating too hard. And don't tell me that the Vandy coaching staff didn't know what was happening. They probably taught him how to do it. I have no problem with a pitcher getting a scuffed ball and using it to his advantage. And pitchers should learn how to use it. I do have a problem with the pitcher intentionally scuffing a ball.
