I’m not convinced this is a matter of our competition offering “double what our NIL can afford” — we’ve heard from credible sources that our NIL pool is competitive. I do believe it comes down to how much our program is willing throw at a single player to out-bid the competition. We’ve also heard from credible sources, including our head coach, that we will not get into bidding wars. This I believe, and support. Go Gators
We shall see what our coaching staff thinks some (case by case) of these player's worth is. That valuation is where players are won and lost. I think our NIL can afford to play this game if our coaches like a certain player, but how many players do they have to protect?
Everyone watching spring games so the unaffiliated can make an offer to enter the portal. Crazy times. Stay Gators!
And in the spring game he looked plenty agile. Top gear not so much but he can find a hole and make the train go in the skinny tunnel
Since the Spring game, not a concern. The question is, how to get him past the LOS so he can truck some people. His HS weight was listed around 215(?) and when I saw 237 I thought it seemed like he mysteriously put on a lot of weight.
I doubt I’m a troll and Josh was specifically speaking to a coach of another team. He predicted anywhere from 10-30% turnover throughout all teams. That’s a floor of 8-9 players on the average per team. Doesn’t seem very far fetched to me.
I honestly guessed that once the 15th landed there would be a ton of action right away. Maybe it will ebb and flow instead. Or maybe there is a lot of behind the scenes stuff going on since it seems most kids already know where they are going once they hit the portal. It will be very interesting to look back on Pate’s statements relative to what actually happens. It’s too soon to call him out though imho.
