Wait - you had no kids move out and no increase in income....but your annual taxes have increased? And....."steadily", at that, over the last 3-4 years?

Are you actually just telling lies like a total jack-a$$, or can you substantiate that somehow? Did the Biden Administration increase your personal tax rate (more than once, no less), or did you just identify a good moment to play victim with a few lies?

What kind of jack-a$$ lies just to be a (fake) victim?

I don't have a problem with electric cars but am not ready to go that way. I plan the replace the car my wife drives in the next year but will go gas again. I don't want to pay the higher price of the car and living rural with a longer commute we would be replacing tires every 2 years. I think we are better with a gas powered vehicle that gets 35 mpg range on the highway. I would consider a non plug in hybrid if it was available in the vehicle we choose.

Maybe both you and Phil are not affected by this because of income level.
    2020 $138,000
    2021 $143,000
    2022 $147,000
    2023 $160,000
    2024 $168,000
Rate still the same as in past but any earnings over the amounts above were not subjected to portions of the FICA tax. So yes, my taxes went up!!

But this shows an increase in income level, after you had said othewise.

Are you just trying to deceive people so you can complain about Biden, and his terrible (not) increasing tax rates?

What makes you so full of hatred, and so insistent on portraying yourself as a victim, that you would tell obviously checkable lies? Sad.

Uh as I said you are probably not affected by the tax. Those are the levels of income that a portion of your FICA taxes are eliminated. What I made over the limit is what is not being taxed. Those are the limits where that happens. I made over those limits even though my income did not increase since then the amount of tax I paid did. Not a hard concept unless you don't bother to read. Who is trying to deceive here? Go check those limits, you might learn something. Maybe your programing needs to be updated!!

Oh I see now, sorry I wasn't really paying much attention to your posts.

But your taxable income increased due to fica limits increasing, since you're gross is over the top......

..... AND YOU STILL WANT TO WHINE ABOUT BIDEN/TAXES, AND PRETEND THAT YOU'RE A VICTIM!!

Sad, man. Truly sad. But hey, you're a victim.

So any disagreement with Biden and rightfully pointing out my taxes increased is whining and claiming to be a victim? You really need to program in a new response rather than just calling everyone that disagrees a victim, it's rather tiresome! I guess if your income is lower than the limits, it does appear as whining, why would anyone need to make that much right?

No. But you whining about your taxes going up due to the FICA changes is definitely whining and trying to claim your victimhood.

It's especially funny when your victimy whining is accompanied by name calling, and a specious and ignorant implication that EVs cause more harm to the environment than ICE cars.

Just face it - you're a whiny jack-a$$ that got caught prevaricating, so that you could falsely imply that you are paying for someone else. Because it's unfair and you're a victim. Stop adding to it now - at least know when to bail out.

If everyone tells you how unfair it is, and that you're a victim, will you be satisfied and run along?

I think you are the one on the island by yourself! What are you like 12? I have been here long before you got here and will be here long after your programing send you elsewhere.

Will you still be whining about what a poor victim you are? With your crazy, unfair increasing tax bill.......during a time when tax rates are static? :)

You really don't understand do you? I am really starting to feel bad for you and your lack of comprehension of such simple calculations of how taxable income increases without increasing rates or income level. Bottomline tax increase. It's how the left can say they are not raising taxes on anyone under $400,000 while increasing their tax bill. Sad if you are indeed a UF graduate yet so obtuse.

LOL, what makes you think people don't understand? Just because you are being mocked doesn't mean the issue isn't understood.

Carry on now please; you're a victim. Your tax bill has gone up SO MUCH over the last few years. It's just so....... NOT FAIR!!!!!!!!!

And yet despite all this, you heroically soldier on and......pay so much money in taxes for all those bad ole EV drivers who are destroying the planet. You're a hero, bro!!

    And yet........you're also a victim. :(

This isn’t a Liberal or Biden issue. SSI is designed to scale with inflation, both the contributions and payout. Bar the three years during the Great Recession, the cap has increased literally every year since 1972. It’s disingenuous to claim the is Biden’s stance. It’s literally the program as enacted and implemented.

The free market will get it right better than the government. You can’t make a law to create an Elon Musk that wants to change the world.

The are just silly political talking points. If Biden’s admin gets too involved who knows what it could do to our auto industry.

The free market has become more greedy though and perhaps a little prompting for the common good isnt a bad thing.

I tend to agree with you, but its time to start cutting the shackles to foreign oil.

History has proven that the free market will not “get it right” when it comes to pollution, financial ethics, etc. We absolutely need to put guardrails on business. That is largely different than prescribing how something is achieved. For instance, automakers have to reduce emissions but don’t have to go the ev route. They could sell hydrogen ICE vehicles if it made any sense. They don’t have to go the battery route in EVs as they could go the fuel cell path like Toyota has tried.

I'm not a car guy but isn't the Ford Maverick a hybrid pick up? Would you do it just to see if you could or is there something wrong with the Ford?

Dude Elon Musk exists because his business model was/is heavily subsidized by the government ... there is nothing 'free market' about Teslas becoming somewhat affordable. The whole conservative criticism of the EV thing is that they were getting tax breaks, lucrative government contracts and write-offs (as well as the early buyers getting tax rebates)!

I have a 2022 EV (non telsa). I do enjoy it, but charge times on long trips are a big negative. I need to buy a couple of new cars in the coming years, prefer gas/hybrid right now. Really want a v8 sports car again before they disappear.

EVs are really an extra burden for folks who can't charge at home.

They do make a Hybrid Ford Maverick. As far as calling it a truck that is s stretch. It is really a small SUV with the rear cargo cut open. The towing capacity is 2k lbs compared to a Ram 150 that will tow 12,500. lbs. They are neat little vehicles though. Hyundai has a Santa Cruze also but not a hybrid.
