It is a mistake to think that the middle is someone who thinks both parties are corrupt and useless, or they are equally bad. I am stoutly in the middle of the political spectrum as a person who believes in a strong safety net, community responsibility and the importance of earning your way to the top and individual achievement. However, there is only one choice politically for anyone center left through center right currently in america and it isnt with the crazies.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that a rocket blowing up is a bad thing. It doesn't take some large group or some huge study to figure out that the CEO of NPR is far left. Anyone that looks at her social media posting history will see that. It's that obvious. Not sure even the CEO would argue she is far left lol.

Would that be the "crazies" on the left and right... because neither political party has a lock on members, and their ideas, that are corrupt, useless and bad.

It appears the middle has moved!! I am not criticizing, you can be wherever on the political scale you want to be, but to claim you are middle, then the middle has definitely moved!!

Yes they do. One side has a lock on crazies in mass. Look, not everyone on the democratic side is grounded, sure, but the standard deviation around crazy on the right is astronomical as two examples I'll give you:
    • AOC's Green New Deal legislation was aspirational, not crazy. It had unworkable parts to it but it was grounded on science and good intentions.
    • MTG just offered an amendment to look at space lasers as a border options.

    Derp derp.

As a white southern Christian well off corporate executive married for 30 years to the same woman and who's kids are in Young Life I assure you my life is very conservative and I have voted 40/60 Pub/Dem. What makes me middle and not conservative is that I dont care if anyone else's life looks like mine or not. And I dont care if I live in a country where I am routinely exposed to others. I am hard core Democrat right now and for the foreseeable future because of the GOP's mission to turn this nation into a theocracy and it's constant unChristian approach to the poor. F that. Then pile on the Trump crap on top of it. Even if I have to wince at some edgy parade highlights or pay a bit more in taxes than I want I will be a middle of the road Democrat for a long time - warts and all.

    Sorry dude!!
You may truly think you are down the middle, think whatever you want, but when you start quoting anything out of AOC as not crazy, you might want to rethink what down the middle truly is. You don't think for one minute that AOC's green deal was aspirational in her thinking, do you?

So you aren't in the middle. Only took you one post to admit it. We already know where you fall. Just hilarious that you said you were in the "middle". Last time you voted R in an Presidential election? I haven't voted R for President since 2012. That is what someone in the middle would look like fyi.

I would not be surprised if I came to see Maher similarly, but it would not only be because you found it to be obvious. Obviousness to one person simply cannot be our measure of truth. Look at how much disagreement there is on this thread. Berliner’s views are seen simultaneously as those of an old crank and so obvious that this thread isn’t even needed. It must either be that many of these posters are total morons or that your views aren’t as obvious as you believe.

No, all that shows is that some people are extremely biased. It's like someone saying AOC isn't far left or Tuberville isn't far right. Just ignore those people because obviously they aren't being rational or are lying. And to answer your last statement I'll go with A. If you can't see the hyper partisanship by some on this site then it's like sitting at the poker table and you are the one who can't figure out who the sucker is.

    Let’s be honest though.
You usually have no problem shooting straight. It seems to me like you’re playing games with philosophy instead of just admitting many left leaning posters here are very liberal. And this isn’t as complicated as you seem to be making it. The hard lefties aren’t ever going to give an inch. They’ll never admit that 95 is correct.
I would not place you in that bucket though. I also wouldn’t place Oragator, Mike and sometimes pitboss.
The rest are off their rockers for the liberal progressive agenda.
The ceo is on record as spouting off leftist, woke crazy talk.
It’s not that hard to admit it.

What the hell is wrong with that movie? I liked it. Edward James Olmos is an excellent actor. Unless the issue was reinforcing stereotypes? But I didn't think anything like that.

Why don't people realize that BOTH things can be true? This Berliner dude could be conservative right wing with an axe to grind (and maybe a jerk) AND the NPR ceo and the other executives could be very liberal (and also be jerks).
I guess if people did that Too Hot would be very quiet and / or lonely.
