They know exactly where the hamas leaders are, in Qatar. Maybe they don't really want to get rid of hamas? Given that they helped hamas gain power, perhaps Israeli leadership wants to have a hamas to push Israelis into supporting unpopular politicians who can appear strong.

Wow. You really need to take your moral compass in for a tuneup. Cheering for post-birth abortions now?

And this is why the U.S. will largely be incapable of winning any war today. Someone else starts a war against you, you finish that war.

You finish them physically and psychologically. You take away their will to fight. When they surrender you twist their arm a little more and make them suffer. You offer no terms. You defeat and destroy them in every aspect. And you know innocent people will be killed. You know women and children will be killed. But sadly that is just one of the many costs of war.

World War II was the last time the U.S. had that mentality, that killer instinct.

I hope for Israel’s sake they have that same mentality, or they will lose. Hamas started that war, Israel needs to finish it. Not only would it eliminate a major threat but it would send a clear message to the world. The same type of message the U.S. sent in World War II. Mess with us, you will regret it in the worst way.

You chose to go on about your life during Covid despite having a pre-existing condition....yet you're afraid to travel too far from home based on riots that may or may not even happen - and would likely be largely avoidable even if they were to occur. That strikes me as a very skewed risk assessment.

It’s a benefit too. I just don’t like the vast majority of people in general. You all can call me a racist or a sexist. Really I’m actually a specist (did I just coin a term, lol). I by and large dislike the human species.

If I could live in nature and not see people the rest of my life I think I would be happy.

Plenty of open land in the US. Check out any state in the west. Large areas of land where you can live by yourself and keep you opinions between you and the animals. Nothing stopping you.

As for Israel and Hamas, there is no group wearing the white hats. Both sides have plenty of innocent blood on their hands. And what do you think would happen if Israel turned the West Bank into a parking lot? Think Iran and its allies would sit quietly and let it happen without retaliation? It could truly be the start of WWIII...and nobody is going to win WWIII. The Israelis and Palestinians have been fighting for generations. Golda Mier famously said there will be peace when the Palestinians love their children more than they hate Jewish kids. But now, after generations of fighting, that statement can be turned right around on the Israelis. Hate begets hate, and as long as hate reigns supreme, there will never be a winner...And for the record, my family is Jewish and I have relatives that live in Israel.

Regarding Joe Biden, anyone who thinks he's being bought by the Chinese should be referred to as a Russian Stooge. There is only one piece of evidence that showed Joe Biden ever took a dime from China, and it's been 100% discredited since it came from an arrested Russian spy. There is zero credible evidence Joe Biden is corrupt.

And if you're worried about the border, why didn't Trump do anything to stop undocumented immigrants from coming. Did you know, in 2019, more undocumented immigrants came than any time in the previous 15 years! And who was POTUS again in 2019? That's right, Trump. Not only did Trump did nothing to slow down undocumented immigration, his cutting off aid to C. American "triangle" countries caused more desperation, more starvation, and more emigration north. And now, instead of giving ICE the budget to help with the influx of persons, the Rs not only don't pass any legislation, they impeach Mayorkas! Which side should be charged with treason?

You live in a world where you can't distinguish what is true to what you want to believe is true. Maybe moving into the wilderness is best?

I'm not sure how sexism came into play here, but I think wanting to stay home and avoid people because you don't like people seems more logical than being afraid to travel due to fear for your physical safety from possible riots. Maybe you can travel to the country, a national park, or somewhere to get some downtime and enjoy nature. The biggest risk to you will probably be bad drivers along the way - or whatever wild animals you might wind up camping with.

It should be noted that World War II ended with a peace agreement in which the US provided substantial aid to its former enemies and has led those former enemies to become long-term allies. What you are describing is the end to World War I, which led to World War II and Hitler. But what you previously described is genocide, not war. I am glad that the US will no longer engage in genocide.

Agree 100%. I am so happy we lived in Florida during the pandemic.

I mostly fish and solo so the pandemic didn’t impact me too much except to increase fishing trips and the # of rides and miles since most social events were curtailed for a few months. That was just terrible to endure!

There was one ride about 5 months into the shutdown when I joined a large group of cyclists on the loop in Volusia County. Since I wasn’t a regular, I just hung at the back and enjoyed the draft. Later, I realized if any of the 15 or so people ahead of me were contagious, I was sucking in their Covid germs with ever breath!! Luckily, I didn’t get sick. In fact, wife and I both avoided Covid until she brought it home last month.

Please elaborate. You obviously think something long term would happen to the “trumpies” under Trump. What would it be?

On the COVID note, since you didn’t like the COVID response by Florida what would you have liked to have seen? I’m assuming you would have wanted a hard lockdown like California and New York? Vaccine passports? Unvaccinated becoming second class citizens? How far would you have gone?

The problem I see in you is that being in medical you only think about the medical aspect. You don’t see the wider societal and economic impact. It’s why medical experts in my opinion should not be able to shut down any country. The medical experts are always going to steer on the side of caution. They would want us locking down anytime the flu or common cold gets out of control to “stop the spread”.

But again in all seriousness, what would your Florida COVID response have been?

According to a report from the Department of Homeland Security, over 200 Federal buildings were damaged during BLM riots after George Floyd died and there were basically no consequences for those who committed those crimes. Heck, some Democratic leaders were even encouraging such behavior. Fast forwarding to the January 6 riot in DC, at least people were arrested and held accountable for their actions.

There is a really simple solution and that is to make everyone aware that there will be severe consequences for any crimes committed during these violent protests and riots (again as we have seen with those convicted of participating in the January 6 riot). However, if you don’t hold people accountable, you will see the same crap we saw during the so-called “Summer of Love” back in 2020.

Last time I checked, the BLM marches were about social justice, and were not politically motivated. At least not by a single candidate. When I also checked, the attack on the Capitol Building was part of a criminal conspiracy to overturn a federal election. A conspiracy which was initiated and conducted by one lying, traitorous politician.

If you can't tell the difference, you are just being willfully obstinate, because no grown adult is that unable to comprehend.

I say arrest and punish anyone who broke the law in both cases. Including the leaders. I support punishment for all who rioted during BLM marches.

Now it's your turn; tell us how you support the arrest of the traitor who initiaited the conspiracy which included attacking our government. And the arrest of the people who that traitor calls hostages. We'll be waiting.

Edit : Nooooooooooooooooooo! How did I get sucked into this abortion of a thread, which should have ended at Post#28. If not 27 posts sooner. :(

Over 300 people were arrested and facing charges for the BLM protests that got out of control and turned violent. And the majority of the protests were peaceful; about 90%. And with the 10% that were not, there were some Boogalou Boys that were responsible for the start of the violence, not BLM.

As for COVID, once in a lifetime global pandemics are different. Thankfully, they only happen about once every 100 - 150 years. It's the one time where public health officials should have power and direct the country. They are the experts. If there is a time to maybe go too far when it comes to a disease, it's during a global pandemic that killed over 1.1 million Americans in a four year period.

Oh they will happen more often now. The 100 - 150 years was back when the world was largely isolated and travel was only limited to the very elite. Now with the world so interconnected I see pandemics like COVID happening much more frequently. Plus all the enemies of the U.S. saw how effective it was to shut down this country. I guarantee you every enemy of the U.S. has scientists working to develop the next COVID and to make it even more destructive. I predict another COVID like pandemic in the next 10 years.

So essentially you would have wanted us to hard lockdown like Europe and China right? How did that work out for them again? Sorry but I will always reject that type of rigidity. Medical authorities can provide guidance but their authority stops once they leave their hospital or agency.

States and states only should have the authority to determine their response to the pandemic. I would have absolutely rioted if they had tried to lock us down unilaterally. You might be okay living under oppression, I am not. I would rather die than live like how you would have wanted us to live.

It must really burn you up at the end of the day that me and people like me went on vacations and enjoyed life while you all locked down in your homes for months on in. And just like you, we're still here. :)

The last prior global pandemic before COVID was a flu bug. With the world more connected and advances in society, common viruses like the flu will likely never cause another pandemic again. Too many people already have had several strains of the flu, and have an immunity towards the flu. A flu that causes a pandemic like the Spanish Flu or COVID would have to mutate likely beyond its capacity to cause a pandemic.

What's much more likely to happen is what happened with COVID. A virus that jumps species that while related to other viruses, is different enough to be considered novel. Thankfully, viral species jumps are extremely rare events. Thousands of species, and generally only 10-15 significant viral jumps every year. Odds of a virus like COVID jumping to humans again? Very small.

And I'd defer to experts. W. Bush and Obama, with the help of experts, literally wrote a book on how to handle the next global pandemic. We should have followed it. We didn't. The result was 1.1 million deaths, where models show, had we followed the pandemic, would have been cut as much in half.

While business and living lives are important, things like losing a year of education or temporarily close a business can be recovered. What can't be recovered? A life lost. Zombies only exist in movies and tv shows.
