Well SURE. Whats the man supposed to do? Change his coaching style and philosophy based on social media chatter? "The games in the fall will either expose the narrative as empty or allow Napier to pound his chest telling all that will listen " I told you......Trust the Process" I can't speak for the "decision makers" but hasn't Gator Nation (the fan base) pretty much stated it's all about 2024 .....or else? The issue to be bandied about will be "what is acceptable"? Seems to me like the narratives are running: 6 - 6 but "improved play must be demonstrated" to 8 - 4 "will do". Then there is the crowd screaming - "NO - The Gator Standard must be met" Whatever that means. 9 or 10 wins I guess for that crowd. Obviously numerous considerations will be evaluated: The Locker Room (always important) Recruiting (Does UF give Napier walking papers if he goes 5 - 7 but has a top 5 class?) The effectiveness of the new coaching hires. Special teams Defense Offense Transfer Portal Decisions What if the injury report looks like the German 6th Army at Stalingrad in Jan 1943? So many "what ifs"? For me and many others its all about "Miami" Makes the game fun yet scary. Lets say UF blows em out or they blow UF out? Will either coach survive that, first week? Perhaps a new standard of cutting a man loose after the first game of the season will come into play. For me it's an NCAA playoff game. Should UF lose, I may take a powder from any board, at least until Friday before game 2. Should we win I will enjoy the Cane message boards. If there is any "pattern" to Napier's coaching it does seem like UF has been a bit more successful "early". Considering the second half of the schedule, UF needs a hot start. Dang, is it August yet? LOL
My take for next year is this, beyond whatever the scoreboard says at the end of the game (for better or worse), as long as the team and its resulting product appears well coached and is competitive for its cumulative level of talent......I believe even a losing record could be considered acceptable! If however the product on the field looks basically the same as the last 2 years, Billy has to go.....no ifs or maybes about it!
I find it hard to disagree with your post. Very resonable and not a post of insane expectations. Bumbling and stumbling will not go over well in 24, especially in game 1. Gator Nation should hold the entire staff accountable should "shooting oneself in the foot" be the case in 2024. Time to step up, step out and kick some U No Wat.
Is he taking a dump on the field? Seriously, those Hayes Fawcett recruit photoshops are all the same, and they are all super corny
No doubt and I’ll refrain from breaking my tv till something real happens. Imagining negati in the future and crying about it is pointless
Never coached football, but from my pause/rewind/replay vantage on my 85 inch screen Nunnery looks clueless and lost.
FSU getting left out of the playoff and then absolutely wrecked by UGA has been the highlight of CFB since 2008 for me.
I mostly agree. I couldn't see him get fired for averaging 28 points of offense with a QB one year in the system. While I could see him getting fired for having a persistently bad defense. Even special teams that has been very maligned had units that were very good, particularly placekicking. I expect RR is going to turn around the D. Basically getting rid of the loser coaches on D who were undermining him will improve the d significantly. Even if the OL is not completely solved, if the O improves and the D improves, I think he has to get a year with Lagway and Graham/McCray starting. If that doesn't turn the ship, which I think it will, he should be gone.

All this while our DL rushing (Princely in particular) were getting held and no flag. We had one time-out left I see from the graphic. Maybe it was one of those times that we should have used it? But I agree with Alex, Nunnery should not be blamed for that play.
As I recall or maybe I should say "dont recall", no one on the staff actually ever came forward to explain what was suppose to happen defenesively on that play..........?
