Oh, he definitely did. It was part of the Cares Act that he signed that put a moratorium on evictions and tenant suits for unpaid rent for about 15 months... But now you can take solace in this solid evidence that "buying votes" doesn't work.
Kinda apples and oranges there. You HAVE to pay your mortgage or you lose your home. You get to keep your degree. I'll take some mortgage forgiveness
The student loan scam is abhorrent. Get a degree, get a job, and pay off the loan. It’s really pretty simple.
Both the Pubs and the Dems protect big industries... But as far as simply giving money way goes... look at all the money Biden is simply giving away to countries like Iran the Ukraine among others. But yes, Biden is trying to buy votes by illegally forgiving student loans.
The degree is also non-transferable, so maybe if you could sell it, improve it or get equity on it, it would work different
I’m of the same opinion. I’d also add those that substantially complied with the 10-year public service work but were not able to get forgiveness due to some technicalities.
Again, I'll point you to the Republicans who already buy votes with that scam .... Tax cuts and "defund the IRS"....
I'm fortunate to have gone to a state school, 30 years ago, and had parents who could pay for my undergrad degree. It's in History, which some would call worthless. I make more than my parents did 30 years ago, but not 10X. And I can tell you, my oldest is finishing up her first year at the same school I went to. Her first semester bill was more than 10X my bill was. I also ended up with an MBA. Didn't take out loans for that either. Lucky to work for a company that covered 100% of tuition. I have no skin in the loan forgiveness game. But it also doesn't bother me. I know how fortunate I am to have my education paid for, and how I wouldn't be where I am financially without my education. That others have to go tens of thousands, if not more into debt for the same opportunity? That's what isn't fair in my opinion. An educated populace lifts all of us. And even though I'm not getting a dime, I don't mind people getting a hand up for their education. Especially considering the cost of education today, which as far, FAR outpaced inflation through the years.
Was also a boon to private jet companies Private-jet makers expect soaring sales | Arkansas Democrat Gazette I think we can all agree that helping people buy private jets and corporate welfare for private jet related companies is less desirable to a first world country than offering partial relief of student loans.
Please stop this constant stream of misinformation. The money Biden "gave to Iran" was money South Korea owed Iran, but was not releasing to them to appease us. That cooperation came at a significant cost to South Korea. The money was actually released to Qatar, not Iran, and can only be released to Iran for food, medication and humanitarian needs. So bullshit on that one, sport. We are not giving money to Ukraine. The overwhelming amount of our aid is in military equipment and supplies, a lot of it used or outdated and we are replacing our equipment with new and updated items. That would be bullshit #2. The only reason you didn't hit the trifecta of BS was the fact you stopped at two. And surprise, surprise surprise, look at who you actually got to agree with you. Color me shocked.
Neither side wants to address the real problem. Way too many schools accredited. Higher ed is number 2 lobbyist behind pharma. Think about that. I also recall that higher ed is one of the largest employers in the country. Higher ed is too big to fail. Who eats the loss, the students or the voters who allow the broken system to continue. Voters need to demand that higher ed be held accountable instead of fighting about who eats the loss
Public work rules are too loose. Local hospital group is not for profit. Local campus is referred to as wealth park. They pay market rate. Their employees making market rate living in SW Fl working at a fabulous facility with mostly senior, wealthy people qualify for forgiveness. That ain't right
