KNOXVILLE, Ten. — LSU right-hander Luke Holman almost was unhittable Saturday. Through 5⅓ innings, that was the truth. Tennessee didn't have a hit. Holman didn't have his best command but had a good slider, fooling Volunteers hitters with it on multiple occasions. But for as good as Holman was, LSU led only 1-0. The Tigers had eight hits through five innings but couldn't find one that could push across multiple runs. The lack of insurance for Holman came back to bite LSU. He allowed two hits in the sixth inning and got replaced by left-hander Griffin Herring with two outs. Herring allowed a two-run single that gave Tennessee the lead, and LSU fell 3-1 at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The defeat clinched LSU's fifth consecutive series loss in Southeastern Conference play. "(Tennessee right-handed starter Drew Beam's) constantly in the strike zone," LSU coach Jay Johnson said. "There's not many guys that have been able to start for three years (in the SEC). He's been able to do that. It's because he throws strikes."
Lsu just swept at UT. Now 3-12 in sec play. Not looking good for the defending NCs postseason chances. Maybe they need a new HC.
Lol, their program is clearly in decline. Won't make the post season this year, didn't host a regional in 2022. He should be on the hot seat.
still watching a 18-17 team..how about you? and a SB team thats played well since Dean said retiring..lol up to 15 RPi(UF 14th), despite 5-10 sec record.. #1 sos, kinda like baseball(#2 sos for now will be clear #1 by years end)
I see the Vols beat the tar out of Bellarmine. Yep Bellarmine Knights, never heard of that school, had to look em up. Little Catholic school in Louisville, KY part of ASUN conference. Baseball record 6-30. Learned something new today.
