Meanwhile, back to the OP for a minute. I absolutely love Dawn Staley. That is painful to write because I would rather be rooting for the Gators in the final 4, however, Dawn Staley is incredible.

That said, I hope that she got up from the interview table and kicked the arse of the man or woman who asked that stupid question and then threw his or her broken body out of the arena personally.

Against an issue that hasn't existed, accccording to the linked article. Of course, it may have been fear in this current atmosphere of "acceptance.". I spoke too soon

That question makes zero sense in the course of this argument, truly. Something being rare has little bearing on whether it’s fair or right. And there are countless laws on the books that rarely get invoked and yet we keep for a variety of reasons.
All this boils to for me is that once your decisions impede others, it crosses a very basic line, one that is literally the basis of this country’s laws. That the only relevant part of this discussion for me. And the country by and large agrees with me. That doesn’t make us transphobic, cruel, or any other pejorative word, anymore than it makes you those things towards CIS women for your stance. It’s about what is most fair to the most people.
Again, all I am asking for is an honest debate nationally on the real impacts. It sucks that this particular one came up from troll Travis, but it’s a much larger discussion than him.

If you think Chandler Parsons is the only ex-Gator athlete who has an issue with a Tranny competing against women in any collegiate sport, you are very much mistaken.

Athletes who compete at the highest level value the integrity and fairness of their sport. Allowing men to compete against women goes completely against fair competition.

No, you have to protect the integrity and fairness at all levels from middle school to professional sports. Kudos to NAIA for recognizing men should not be allowed to compete against women and going forward, more athletic organizations will do the same.

Perhaps a larger discussion for all of sports, but what about women's basketball? I looked it up and could not find any DI male-to-female trans hoopsters. The only one I found was a female named Kye Allums, who was transitioning female-to-male and remained on the women's team, but did not undergo any treatments while a women's basketball player. So if there are no or almost no cases, how big an issue is it?

Agree, like I said, Travis and his trolls were just trying to stir stuff up. But the larger issue will only get larger over time.

The absurdities became reality when we crowned a biological man a women’s swimming national champion.

Most athletes are against this ridiculous notion of biological men competing agains women. Maybe because we understand the sacrifice it takes to chase that dream.

I mean, that's your own interpretation of what happened, and you are free to it. But even here you are arguing on the margins.

The simple solution is set up a separate division for trans athletes to let them play against each other. If they don’t have enough players, they are SOL.

    Michael Hobbes speaks truth

    Why it matters

“In states with laws targeting LGBTQ issues, school hate crimes quadrupled,” read the March 12 Post headline. “In 28 states with restrictive laws, the number of hate crimes on K-12 campuses has more than quadrupled since the onset of a divisive culture war that often centered on the rights of LGBTQ+ youth.” Not surprisingly, Florida took pride of place, if that is the right word, among these 28 states.
