Special teams picked where we left off. Blue team lined up only 10 players for FG defense. The future is bright my friends.
On the one hand - spring scrimmage is supposed to be where you mess up On the other hand - how in the WORLD do you keep making that mistake? With no pressure Wow
If you zoom in and look closely, there are two helmets close together by the number nine on picture. That would be the 11th player. It is irritating when people try to make up crap to fit their narrative.
The game was pretty decent in IMHO. Better than last year. Baugh and Spierto need to be on the field regularly. Spierto looked like a freaking stud, it would be cool if he saw more action. Tre looked the part as did Lagway, and Mizel emerges. The guy from Wisconsin, I didn't see much of him. While it's hard to make sense of it all it all in a Spring Game, it did appear the defences were better. We are still down a few offensive guys on the line but they looked pretty decent. Defences stuffed the RB fairly well. I'll temper my optimism a smidge. But it appears there's improvement. No more cute plays please, man do they fail miserably. Just move the ball downfield... A portal period and then the shift goes to uni threads and depression (In a positive way) Go Gators.
What happened? I could swear I saw Blue, needing a FG to win, PUNT the ball with only a little over a minute left in the game. I quit watching, having watched a team effectively quit. How in the world did it win?
Last series Orange let Lagway throw the ball. They were trying to get more work in for him. In a real game, they run the ball and let Blue use it's time outs. Game would have been over.
1st impression is that Baugh has excellent vision. Great jump cut and hits the hole. Big kid with power too. Biggest positive surprise of the game.
You may want check the narrative of that last sentence…10 is not 11. Special teams will continue to be an unaddressed problem.
