With Tennessee, Georgia & LSU also losing last night, the Gators need this game badly to either tie UT for first place in the SEC if they lose or stay 1 game behind if they win.

 

A 2 out bloop single from Korbe Otis followed by a HR to dead CF by Jocelyn Erickson gives the Gators a 2-0 going to the bottom of the 1st.

 

A 1-out base hit, hit batter, error on Erickson and a walk loads the bases for Missouri in the bottom of the first. But Brown gets a strike out and a foul out to get out of the inning. 2-0 UF going to the 2nd.

 

Bottom of the 2nd a disaster for Florida as Brown gives up 2 walks, 2 singles and 2 doubles and Missouri takes a 4-2 lead. Tigers have left the bases loaded both innings and Ava just doesn't look sharp. Seem like our freshman pitchers may have hit a wall. Wooten warming up in the bullpen.

 

Top of the 3rd Falby gets an infield single, Wallace lines out to RF, Otis grounds into fielder's choice, Erikcson walks, Walsh pops out. 4-2 Tigers going to the bottom of the 3rd.

 

Brown gives up a first pitch HR to their #8 batter leadig off the bottom of the 3rd. 5-2 Missouri. Wooten in to pitch.

 

Wooten hits the first batter she faces and then gets their 1-2-3 hitters out in order. Prior to today she had only thrown 3.2 innings all season.

 

Tim Walton tried mightily, but couldn't get any of those to come. We lost Grad AA Vawter from Stanford because South Carolina came in at the last minute and offered her a bunch of money that we couldn't match. Several others decided to go elsewhere for whatever reasons. Too bad, too. Riding 2 freshmen, no matter how good, just is asking too much.
