Bullshit. Read the last sentence of your OP and then ask yourself again why you posted it. You clearly were not wondering if a trans could fight-that wasn’t even mentioned initially-when the whole point of this thread was to express your opinion that if no trans were in the competition that’s something “we can all be proud of for a change”.

Feel free to hate on trans all you want but at least be freaking honest about what you’re doing when you get called out. You sound like some of those old WW2 codgers who didn’t want black people in the military, then immediately said “me? I’m not racist”

Another brilliant post. Boy, how much you guys like to hear yourselves trade insults and you wonder why our country is so divided. The actual hate in your hearts is undeniable.

Haven't called you a racist, pal. Haven't heard any of your thoughts on race. But your bigotry towards transgender folks is right there in the OP. You wrote it. You decided to post it. Don't run and hide now. Nobody made you do it. You decided to waltz in here and post something hateful.

Yet you’re the person in this thread calling people effing idiots, a-holes and uneducated fools. And that’s only in the last 20 posts. Talk about living in a self-unaware reality distortion field.

For the last time I do not hate trans. If you read my post you will see I have a transgender brother in law that I love very much. We laugh and kid around all the time about what the roles are of the transgenders in the military. As I stated before I made a bit of a tongue in cheek post in an effort to bring out the serious problems facing our military in relation to military build ups around the world.

Those concerns do exist and everyone did their own narrative of what they thought my post was about. Automatically because the word Transgender was used a certain faction of you made up your mind that I must be a racist and you ran with that like a pack of lemmings jumping off the cliff together. No one posted a more ridiculous post than Gator Lawyer and your encouragement fed his stupid comments.

This post started with some interesting discussions until it was highjacked by the extremists that just want to call everyone that might appear to be on the right a bigot and a racist and try to insult them into leaving. Don't worry I won't be spending a lot of time in the Too Hot Forum so you can all pat yourselves on the back that another voice of reason doesn't have the patience to interact with you.

So based on your OP, if your transgender BIL was competing in the military competition you started this thread with, you wouldn’t be proud of him?

Stop contorting yourself to obfuscate what your original intent was. A little self reflection may help you instead of spewing venom at others.

Reread Gator Lawyers first post to me and then tell me who started calling who names. I will never start the name calling but I won't just take it and not respond in like.

If THAT is what your OP meant to convey - a sensitivity to The Others and what they might bring to the table - then I'll accept your clarification in this post. It didn't originally read that way.

I served - 1962-1967. The draft was in effect, and I am quite certain we had soldiers of all persuasions who served honorably. Personally, I don't know what causes a person to want do transition, but I don't need to in order to accept them. If someone - transgender or not - can't pass muster, they won't last.

In other words, no need to judge the book based upon its cover.

Oh no, we're losing a self-proclaimed "voice of reason." What will we do? I guess we'll just have to go back to being proud of our military, transgender folks and all.
I definitely called you a name . . . after you posted bigoted, hateful crap in this forum. That is true.

I am hopeful that you'll agree to coach the Gators DBs. Haven't seen anybody backpedal this fast in a long time. Our DBs could use your insights.

If you didn't understand my post you could have stated how it appeared to you and allow me to explain myself instead of calling me every name in the book. I have interacted with you in the past and sometimes it has gotten ugly but until today I have always respected you for who you are. No doubt we are on the complete opposite side of the political spectrum and unfortunately in todays world that's reason to justify calling people names automatically rather than delve into the subject matter. Because you could not figure out the nuances of my comments you just assumed I was anti transgender and then later started bringing Blacks into the conversation trying to label me a racist.

For that I say shame on you. You are usually better than that. On this occasion I think you went unnecessarily off the rails. You assumed something and didn't have the patience to talk it out. Every nasty post that has been said here started with you. Take responsibility for that.

You said what you said, man. We all read it. I didn't call you a racist. I brought "Blacks into the conversation" to demonstrate just how unacceptable your initial comment was. People are a lot more willing to tolerate attacks on transgender people than they are on Black people. I guess that's progress. When one replaces "transgender" with "Black," it shows just how out of bounds your comment was. Something that was evident to me from the start. You can try to talk yourself out of the hole you dug yourself in, but we all can read the words on the page:

Nice post and thanks for the chance to respond. I too was a wide eyed snot nosed kid as my number was called in the last year of the draft and I ended up deployed to Vietnam . I too served with many people from different persuasions than me. My post was never meant to criticize anyone but yes I am discouraged when I see our enemies building up their military force and we are concentrating on DEI. If you read my original post it was meant to open up a discussion on the state of our military today. The transgenders in the military is a current affair and have been in the forefront of today's discussions pertaining to our military. All I care about is are you going to be a good soldier or not, why is it even necessary to put a spotlight on transgender enlistments but for some reason it was used to show everyone how diversified our military is today. So I say, if you are going to be spotlighted than compete and show what kind of soldier you can be. After all do you think the person in the foxhole cares about your gender or whether yo can cover their back.

It seemed to me to be a good tongue in cheek way to bring it up while recognising a great competition going on with our military right now and yes I am hopeful that we can find something to be proud of with our military and get away from the DEI talk which in my opinion has no place in discussing our military readiness.
