I am guessing those tasked with the search conduct due diligence as to who may or may not be interested. Billy was in the latter group.
I think bikes Q could have been interpreted as “what response do you believe would be more appropriate?” Sorry, didn’t mean to bit into a good debate.
You know BD well enough to understand that little or nothing he says to the media is done unwittingly.
Yeah… The statement I offered was, of course, tongue-in-cheek. As to what would be a more “appropriate” statement… well, that re-opens the discussion of Billy not owing any type response. But I will say this… Nate Oats was the initial target of heavy speculation. Whatever his statement… it effectively threw water on the rumors. I’m not sure I ever read his statement, but I’m now doing to look it up…
"Bama Nation, I am fully committed to this team and this University. We have already accomplished some great things here, and there is nothing I want more than for the University of Alabama to win its first national championship in men's basketball. Despite any rumors to the contrary, rest assured that I will continue that pursuit as your head coach. Roll Tide!" - Nate Oats i think it’s that final line that really gives his statement some punch. Pretty solid.
The proof, as they say, is in the pudding. Billy is not a youngster. He isn't coming back to college ball.
Sometimes. Or, if you're Arya Stark, sometimes the body parts of your enemy's sons are in the pudding.
