Cam has more than proven his lack of character over the years. Im sure he never sold out to the highest bidder to go to Auburn either right. Just a bunch of Cam/Auburn haters fabricated that, eh.

 

I agree about what everyone is saying about Cam's character. But how does he not beat out John Brantley and how different is our history if Cam managed to shine at UF instead of Auburn?

 

This is the first time I’ve heard him speak extensively on his time at UF. Him wanting to leave because of lack of snaps doesn’t sound far fetched.

 

Plenty of UF fans have called Urban that and much worse. Cam did what he felt was best for his career and his family and made moves. No different than what Urban did when he decided to jet to Ohio State.

 

If he didn’t get into so much shit, maybe he stays, wins another ship and many things in history at UF are changed., don’t cheat and steal is good advice.

 

He messed up and instead of facing the music, he went juco to save face. It worked out fine for him but that’s how he rolls.

 

If he’s such a scumbag and person of “low character” why would you want him to stay at UF and face the music. You should be happy a low character individual like that left and took his talents elsewhere and left UF with such an amazing QB like John Brantley.

 

Maybe if that coaching staff didn’t prioritize recruiting low character players like Cam who stole, cheated, abused women, were on drugs, got arrested every weekend etc UF wouldn’t have been in that position in the first place. Oh well!

Just because you and some others think Urban was an asshole doesn't mean Cam is not. You're obviously a Cam fan and an urban hater which is your prerogative.

 

I’m actually on record for defending Urban from fans who have tried to underestimate his contributions to UF and who don’t think he belongs in the Ring of Honor. I can do that while also admitting he had some serious scumbag tendencies. I can admit Cam has some scumbag tendencies too, if it makes you feel better lol

WOW, this is a trip down memory lane!
I did a fast Google on Cam leaving UF. I found a link to a story back in November, 2010. The events in this saga go back to 2007.

Officially it appears that Cam is innocent of any wrong doing.
This means that he did not go through the so-called due process routine.
Basically, he bailed from UF before any of his not so legal activities could result in a legal record.

Thus he it appears that he has a clean record while he was at UF.

Here is a paragraph that I lifted from the link below. Please note the areas that I highlighted.

"Newton, a Heisman Trophy front-runner, is said to have been caught cheating three times, including putting his name on someone else's paper without that student's knowledge.

Newton attended Florida in 2007 and 2008 before transferring to Blinn College, a junior college in Texas.

Newton decided to leave Florida following a November 2008 arrest after he bought a stolen computer. The charges were dropped last December when he completed a pretrial intervention program for first-time offenders.

According to FoxSports.com, Newton again violated the university's honor code by putting his name on another student's paper and turning it in. Newton was caught after the instructor asked the real author of the paper why he had not turned in his work.

Newton turned in a second paper to the instructor, but that paper was later found to have been purchased off the Internet, according to FoxSports.com. He was to appear for a hearing in front of Florida's Student Conduct Committee during the spring semester of 2009 but instead transferred to Blinn College.

The truth was/is that Cam was dirty at some point while he was at UF.

• Not only was he stupid to make some bad decisions.
• He was also stupid in the way he did them and in his attempts to hide those bad decisions.
• He slipped by the possession of a stolen laptop charge by getting a pass from the First Offenders due process.
• He also slipped by the cheating charges because he bailed from UF before his hearing.

He was a much better fit for Urb's offense and performed well in games in 2007, but he was awful during the Spring game before the 2008 season. He couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Brantley looked a lot better than him in that game.

 

Maybe he should have written his name on Brantley’s jersey

 

I would be willing to be if it was just the purchase of a stolen laptop, nothing would have come of it for him. The issue was the cheating. Which also doesn't make sense since all these guys have tutors at their beck and call to help with everything from homework, papers and even getting to class.
