That was an amazing win. Correct me if I’m wrong but I remember Stephanie Toft making an incredible effort play at third to get the final out and finally secure the win. Then just a few hours later we had to play a relatively fresh Texas team. We had the better team but no gas left in the tank. Physically and emotionally exhausted at that point. Always and forever love that 2013 team!
floridagators.com does not show games 1 & 3 at missouri as televised. can that be right? not even secn+.
Brown was responsible for the runners on base so all the runs scored was charged to her. If we came back to win i believe Ava gets the no decision and Wooten would get the W
I may be fuzzy on the details, but if Brown left with the score 3-0 and the bases loaded. All those runs are charged to her, but that only ties the game. Rothrock gave up the lead runs, so why wouldnt she get the loss? I must have missed something.
reminded me of another sport, the sec gymnastics championships, passionless and deserved to lose. nothing redeeming, flush it.
She did. she also made a fabulous play in foul ground to end the bottom of the 7th and prevented the winning run to score. I'm fuzzy on this part. A Nebraska batter hit a line drive and I guess she believed one of our players caught the ball because she went back into the dugout. An umpire ruled the ball hit the ground and we threw it to first base before the runner returned to first base. I think I remember the batter should've been ruled out because she never tagged 1st base and went into the dugout and never touched 1st base. If that was the case that should've been the ball game. I don't know if that's true on anything I just said but for some reason that play stands out the most next to the game inning play.
Olivia and Mackenzie were our two best last night. Combined they went 2.1 innings, gave up three hits with one walk, one strike out and only one run.
Skylar is 1 for her last 13 and had an error a couple of games ago. I wouldn't be surprised if sweetpotato2's best friend Jacksonvillejeff doesn't demand that TW bench her.
Softball is a game of milimeteres… losses happen. I tell my kids all the time, we don’t lose, we learn - coaches included
Only drawback from the loss is actually playing the game and having to travel for Friday night sec game. At best it provides a mental reset. I do worry about the physical expense though.
I’d love to see miller and other pitcher get the mid week reps and save brown and rothrock for weekend games
Yes it does. In this case the stuff was an admirable complete game by Campbell pitcher Isabella Smith, who mixed command with a nice mix of rise and drop style pitches to keep Duke in check. You can also give credit to another great job by Payton Dixon with her pitching against the Gators. I hope all our pitchers will continue to perfect their offerings with a compliment of pitches that elude predictability.
