Perhaps one of the unintended consequences in asking for more transparency is that we can see they surely don't know what the hell they are doing and that is unsettling.

I think Trump would have tried his damndest to enact price controls to "solve" inflation.

I think the fed has done a surprisingly good job. Yes, they started too late, but no one knew that then. The FED knows & has recently voiced concerns about the role that expectations of inf play on actual inflation. Announcing possible rates cuts is inconsistent with that. So, I think they've done a great a job until recently.

Yeah, they've done really great if you remove all the screw ups. So has Billy Napier.

This legislation, of course, being net neutral on inflation over the long term.

Wish that were the case with the deficit funded Trump top-bracket tax cuts.

    That’s not an answer.
What policy that Trump will implement specifically will bring down inflation?

It’s called summer. Prices for gas will go up and then down just like every year. Threads from righties will dry up about the time fall gets here and I start thanking Joe for low gas weekly. Rinse repeat.

Those don’t even go together. Try harder. Like: Is the left wing narrative that Joe is leading record oil output or is Joe investing in renewables? Answer: Both

I don’t think that makes a ton of sense. Builders need to build more affordable housing, yes, but not in lieu of high end homes. It’s in addition to them.

Took you 3 years to admit it was anything other than stimulus. Stimulus was temporary and drove almost no inflation. It’s all supply, profit taking and wages.

Great analysis. Inflation is reigned in to the low 3’s. What exactly are you looking for any President to do? Trump would be tweeting “Cut the rates!”

Not 100% wrong. Economists are always guessing in my opinion.

Don’t quibble with me city. You’re smarter than that. Government spending included a lot of stimulus.

You really don't think you spent a bunch of posts predicting recessions and economic calamities? Seriously?

Oh it’s much worse than just not bringing down inflation, the biggest aspects of the guys platform are big time inflationary.

“Build that wall” = major labor constraints. That translates to even more labor shortages than we see today. How can kneecapping the labor force be anything but inflationary?

Tarrifs are also inflationary, that cost gets passed to the consumer. Guy loves his commie protectionist policies.

I'm not a policymaker, but I'd have to think that's a good place to begin. Government hacks aren't exactly gettin' er done.
