It's a stereotype not supported by reality. I'm a boomer. A number of my contemporaries had after school part-time jobs and a majority worked full time over the summer in contrast to Millennials and Gen Z teens the majority of whom rely completely on their parents, my son who did work over the summer being an exception. If one were to walk into a McDonald's in the sixties or seventies especially during the summer a majority of the employees behind the counter would be teen boomers. Walk into a fast food restaurant today and the chances are that a majority of the employees would be immigrants (the people that Trump says are poisoning the blood of the country). I would also add the vast majority of those 58,000 plus service members whose names are on the wall of the Vietnam memorial are Boomers.

I'm not sure you can hind behind compassion either if your idea of help is forcing those people to "take their medicine."

Boomers suck. Millenials suck. Gen x sucks. Gen y sucks. Gen z sucks. You suck. He sucks. That person over there sucks. The first person you think of right now sucks. The next person that posts in this thread definitely sucks.

This is a rather unique thread IMO. Simply because it is a divisive thread on age rather than politics. I guarantee you the vast majority that agree are 50 and older while the dissenting posters are under 50. Political leanings are not necessarily the deciding factor. It truly shows the tribalism from the prospective each had in our youth, or some still in their youth. This show all of us that different perspectives are not necceasarily wrong just different from what you may think.

I'm actually between X and Millenial. They came up with some new definition for those on the border before computers were ubiquitous.

That being said, I also suck

I think we all knew you were a millennial. That’s not hard to figure out.

No, not revisions. I might have missed a few details on the specifics but overall my assessment is still pretty darn good. If you do go in and bought a house than you have even less of an excuse for making excuses if the mess that has been created.

"I might have missed a few details on the specifics" is a great way of admitting that the entire base of your argument was wrong. You tried to pretend as if I was somehow shielded from the challenges of younger people while....being one of those people that you claim to be concerned about. Again, the whole thing is just pretend from you. If you really were concerned, you would have been bringing up the challenges that those of us who are millennials and Gen Z have faced to your fellow boomers claiming that we didn't face challenges right here on this thread. But you didn't. And those of us that are in that age group know why. Because you aren't really concerned about us and the fake concern is just because you want to advance your own narratives.

Apprently I'm a xennial. They also suck

Many researchers and popular media use birth years from 1977 to 1983,[1] though some extend this further in either direction.[2][3] Xennials are described as having had an analog childhood and a digital young adulthood. Xennials are almost exclusively the children of baby boomers and came of age during a rapidly changing period that was the 1990s.

Oh, you poor thing. I feel so guilty.

You don’t even have compassion for the issues policies that you support have brought upon people but you expect me to work everything with my “fellow boomers”!

You really are a piece of work.

I don't doubt that you don't feel guilty. Somebody really concerned about younger people might. But, as I established, that isn't you. You just got mad that I pointed it out. I'm sorry that got into your feels.

Does it trouble you at all that the people you say you want to help tend to support policies that are completely inconsistent with your preferred policies?

To begin with, I guess I can't figure out how the idea is that you need to tackle things that are difficult for you is something exclusive to boomers. Is that the claim here or am I missing something?
