Just from the postings here, it seems that more than just a few are wondering how bad UF will get hit.

On the other hand, no one is saying anything about UF throwing out some chum in this spring fishing tournament.

I’m fairly certain they will get offers. If someone like ETN got double the money and said so, it would be understandable. I don’t think players can actually admit they are being tampered with though. Is there any tampering penalties?

 

Paid to play and have to pay taxes on the income. Sounds like a salary to me.

 

IMO, he embraces what he wants major college football to be rather than what it is going to be. He still thinks everything is just a tweak or two away from doing great and all the fans will continue to support it the way they always have. The winds of change, chasing prestige with impunity, tells me nothing is sacred. And the future isn't going to look anything like "the good old days".

 

Agreed. They need to go ahead and make them employees of the schools, with employment contracts. Then if another school wants to poach them or a player wants to leave for another school, they have to pay up. Something needs to happen to end this current free-for-all.
