The way the war was going to end was that Putin was going to lean over a balcony a bit too far and the new President would declare victory and slink back to their borders with their tails between their legs.

Afire broke out on the Russian missile ship Serpukhov in the Kaliningrad region, causing significant damage, according to RBC-Ukraine source within special services.

The source says the fire engulfed the Serpukhov on April 7. It is a small missile ship of Project 21631 Buyan-M (the fifth ship in the series)

Displacement - 949 tons, length - 74.1 m, width - 11 m, height - 6.57 m, draft - 2.6 m. Crew - 32 people. Maximum speed - 25 knots. Range - 2500 miles (at a speed of 12 knots). Autonomy - at least 10 days.

According to open sources, the ship is equipped with a vertical launch system (VLS) 3S14 for 8 Onyx cruise missiles, with plans for the 3M22 Zircon and Kalibr, allowing strikes with these missiles at ground targets up to 1500 km (with non-nuclear warheads) or according to other data, up to 2000 km

Russia has reportedly asked Kazakhstan to supply it with petrol as Ukrainian attacks on its refineries force it to import gasoline.

Kazakhstan has been asked to set up a reserve of 100,000 tonnes of gasoline, equivalent to 845,000 barrels, to supply Russia should shortages arise, Reuters reported.

It is unclear if a deal has been reached. The Kremlin has also been seeking supplies from Belarus.

Russia is normally an exporter of gasoline but Ukrainian drone attacks have significantly hit its refining capabilities, forcing it to rely on imports to meet demand. Drone attacks have hit Russian refineries at least 12 times, including five in March alone, and can range hundreds of miles inside Russian territory.
