Good question since Chris Beard and Jerome Tang both chose to stay at their respective institutions.

The talk is now Will Wade. I haven’t been able to cheer for Arkansas during their last two coaches. They’re trying to make it 3 in a row.

Wow, that would be a huge in your face to the ncaa imo. I tend to root for the Hogs against most sec teams but id be happy to see them finish at the bottom if he is their hire.

You think they can make a strong enough offer?

Per probably ridiculous rumors on twitter, the hogs may be in talks with one John Calipari.

To be fair, he said “won everywhere he’s been.” Is that the same as “every level”? I’m not sure, but perhaps I’m nitpicking

So they will flame out in the first two rounds and jump to the NBA from Fayettville instead of Lexington?

Cal to Arky just seems like an odd match to me.
I would not dismiss him however. Arkansas has resources.
Cal has agency, especially in recruiting.

Ok, but still I wouldn’t say “won” without qualifiers. Won what? Is an appropriate question, since he didn’t win any national championships. Plenty of coaches out there with good W-L records. Doesn’t really mean a lot, IMO.

Okay, so what qualifiers would you use for a “successful” hire? Does the person have to have won a natty or what? What are your criteria for a hire to be a quality one? I see Musselman as a competent coach with a solid resume, though not outstanding. You?

I think you and @MatsideObserver are confused about what I’m saying since he felt the desire to come on man my rational statement. Musselman is an excellent coach and hire. Pretty much any school would be fortunate to have him. My issue is with the statement that “he won everywhere he went”. It’s too vague. Won what? When I read or hear that a coach won wherever he went, it will either generally mean had a winning record and some success or that they won it all. If it’s the former, then so what? A lot of coaches fit that description. It can’t be the latter, because he didn’t win a NC.

In summary, I think he’s a great coach, who has had success wherever he went.

Then I’m not at all sure where there is actual disagreement.
