Rothrock walks the first batter in the 7th, sac. bunt and ground out moves the runner to 3rd and with 2 outs and a full count, gives up a game tying double. Going to the bottom of the 7th 3-3 so we can walk it off. Wallce, Otis & Erickson due up.
The strikezone is why I wasn’t a fan of Walton pulling Ava for Keagan. It took Keagan about a batter and a half to figure out this ridiculous strikezone, and that first free pass cost us.
I only listened on the radio so I have to ask about the strike zone, legit or awful? The called strike three on Wallace leading off the seventh sounded particularly egregious according to the crowd and the radio guys.
Very tough loss. The bottom half of LSU's batting order was the difference today. Give them credit for battling to their last strike and getting the clutch hit. I believe CTW made the right move bringing in Rothrock to save the game. Brown had thrown 116 pitches and was battling from behind in the pitch count the whole game. Both young ladies are gritty and don't get rattled, but when our 2-3-4-5 hitters couldn't win the game in the bottom of the 7th, I knew we were in trouble because the bottom of our order just hasn't been able to hit quality pitching all year. The mistake I do think Coach Walton made was not intentionally walking Guiterrez in the top of the 7th with 2 outs to get to Lynch. Guiterrez had solid at bats the whole game and Lynch had done nothing. If he had walked her intentionally with a runner already on 2nd, I think Keagan would have gotten Lynch out to end the game. But, of course, hindsight is 20/20, just like with relieving Brown with Rothrock. Great game, we lost to an excellent team, let's win the rubber match tomorrow night. Go Gators!
LSU is a senior lead team who beat Texas. The same Texas team that just took the series from OU. We almost beat them which is a testament to what our coaches have done and how talented our young team is. The umpire behind the plate was inconsistent and had a few questionable 3 strike or not strike 3 calls. However we did have the golden opportunity to walk it off with our 2-3-4 hitters up but couldn't get it done because a bad strike 3 call and a DP. We will grow from this game and get better. Now let's take the series from LSU!! Go gators
Our kids should be angry and motivated. Run ruling LSU is one way of taking umpires out of the game! Go get em Gators!
Unfortunately, yes. Either he's off parole from his prison stint, or his parole officer let him. If you ever go to Tiger Park, half of the LSU fans hate him as much as everyone else does.
