Even UToothless fans can be positive every offseason. I’m down with optimism for now Doc! At some point, it has to take a turn for the better.
If one person can be positive forever, it averages out to forever no matter how many Debbie Downers he's surrounded by. Win-win.
I kinda feel like I did with Zook. I was desperately trying to find something to convince myself that we were getting a little better each game. It's funny to look back at our displeasure with Zook's three winning seasons.
We lost 3 games last season where we scored 31 points or more and won another where we scored 41 and only won by 2. I'd say the offense wasn't the problem. If the Defense and Special Teams had played just average we win at least two more games. Offense took awhile to gel, but the 3 aforementioned losses and the close win came in the last 6 games, and one of those final 6 games without Mertz.
Employing “professional trolls” sounds a tad over the top, but I have no doubt that some of the most negative posters here are fans of our rivals and are so obsessed with hating the Gators that they masquerade as Gator fans here just to poison the place and scare off potential recruits
Reading comprehension must not be, though. If my OL comment, in regards to your ridiculous premise, went over your head, just let me know. I’ll explain it in detail for you and do so on a 2nd grade reading level. I’ll also type it in crayon for ya. First, go get your shine box and tell us again how much better Bruce Pearl is than Billy Donovan.
Well plenty of people do it for free. It's not a big leap to think it could be part of a strategy by win at all cost coaches/programs to give incentive to those same people. Or third parties. For $5k you could buy a whole year of negative posts on every forum and social media platform from an overseas outfit. Coming soon: free or cheap AI bots to do it for you. Coming soon: deep fake videos by your coaches making racist or other offensive remarks.
You are absolutely spot on. Trolls are not only on the sports forums. IMO, there are also some 'political activists' on Too hot'' which is one of the many reasons i won't post there anymore. Don't overlook the probability that some of the 'controversial ' posters do so to gin up the post count on these boards, which translates into more revenue for this forum.
It was posted by a mod on this forum a few months ago that moderators were told to be hands off in favor of clicks. I suspect we have a lot of sock puppets as well.
Sounds like something a sock puppet would say. Would you really put it past a Kirby Smart program to pay a few bucks to trash their rival on the internet? Or maybe just a "rogue" uga fan or booster? If it's going on by nations, political parties, and corporations, then why not sports? Recruiting has gone way beyond cutthroat and big bucks are at stake. It's become obvious certain recruiting sites have been corrupted for or against certain teams. Other media also.
