Third year in and you are still using players and culture as an excuse, especially with the portal out there? Sounds like “Endless Excuses” hit it on the nose.
We have a small third year class and we aren’t a playoff destination for transfers. It should show a lot of progress this year but the Napier build is just getting some experienced players. I look at our talent pool and their age/experience and don’t have unrealistic expectations. We beat Tennessee last year and we can beat those type of teams but expectations being that we can compete with the top ten teams in the nation are very unrealistic.
We have to remember its a process and it takes time, sometimes years, to build a team that can consistently win 8 games a season. Hopefully there will be few games that we are not competitive and many that we were close to winning. Blowouts and lack of preparedness are always a bad look. Losing to a Texas or LSU by a few points- as long as not from coaching errors, paint a much better picture. If we are going to win only 6-7, may two of those be miami and fsu. Yes, our SEC record will be abysmal, but we have to recruit Florida well and I see beating fsu and miami as important in that regard. Would add, not lose to UCF.
No, “Endless” made up his mind some time ago, and is unwilling to think objectively. Kirby made some bad hires, so did Saban, Urban, Riley, Lane among others, but they reacted. As did CBN. Endless only seems to think it applies to Napier & UF. But we’ve all become accustomed to his way thinking. Most of us, just don’t entertain it.
I watched some of the usual suspects of gator youtube that discussed the allegations of the issues with the coaches let go. If even half of what was being discussed was true they were a poison to the team. I think we've been so beaten down by poor coaches and decisions, particularly Mullen with Hevesy and Grantham, that a bare minimum expectation of replacing problem coaches is met with cheers of approval. He did what he should do and does deserve credit for making the moves he did after the season. However, just as mister Excuses said, he has to also bear the blame of hiring them in the first place. Am I roasting him for it? No, the 2 coaches that were let go were among the most celebrated hires he made, we all got it wrong. Regardless, it didn't work out. If thinking the coach has a basic responsibility of cutting cancers out of the program is dumb, I'll happily be a moron.
If you are so lowly, why would you claim that you saw something the coach did not see? Also, how do you know what Coach Napier either sees or does not see?
Here's the difference! Enjoy! The coach emphasizes, "Body language tells me everything I need to know!" We have a DL coach who is not playing!
Third year in will be on the field in the fall. If it's no different then, then your comment is viable. Until then,...
That’s the weird part — some here think incessantly bitching for the next 6 months of no football accomplishes anything purposeful. Go figure
