Good post and I agree throughout, but don't kid yourself. Pubs would find a reason to vote against Jesus incarnate if he ran as a Dem (Is he really Jesus? He's not MY Jesus! He's a pacifist! He's soft on crime! etc etc).
The quality of that intel was exceptional and telling the world what was about to happen before the Russians did it was genius imo.
If people are voting for Trump after everything he's done and everything he is, they don't need an excuse. They simply prefer Trump.
I mean if you wait long enough sure something bad is going to happen. But this economy is strong and only people who refuse to see it can deny it.
OP put up some well thought out points. Whether you agree with them or not, you post a meme of an 80 year old falling on a bike. And no, you can't ride a bike all day and all night. People in great shape who don't ride can't do that. I see an 80 year old on a bike or some overweight person hiking a trail, my first impulse isn't to make fun of them if they fall or are breathing heavy. My first thought is "Damn, they are out there hitting it". Someone needs to do better and it isn't me.
There’s people that remain undecided, people who have sworn to be never-Trump but are now holding their noses. We all know people like that. There’s little doubt Biden will win the popular vote, but Biden will need every possible vote he can get to make sure he secures the electoral win.
Because they're Republicans. It was easy to be "never-Trump" when he wasn't the party's nominee and there was hope that it would be somebody else. The reality is that it's Trump vs. Biden. That's the choice. It's an easy one for me. If folks vote for Trump despite knowing what he is and what he's saying, that's their right. But I'm not going to pity them for it. They're making a harmful, destructive choice.
There are so many reasons to appreciate Joe but the obvious one is for our strong economy. During his admin he’s created more jobs than any president.. I think without checking it’s more than Reagan and the two Bush’s combined. It’s even more comforting when one notes that Trump was a net job destroyer.
Biden can point to accomplishments a-plenty, ex: presiding over a proxy war defeat and also a proxy genocide.
U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time Biden has let in 10 million plus illegals since taking office. Maybe they are trying to replace over 150 people who die every day from overdoses related to synthetic opioids like fentanyl. The wealthiest 1% set a record with a total net worth of $44 trillion. Groceries are approaching a 40% increase since 2019. Ukraine war could have been easily stopped. Taxpayer continues to fund Ukraine gov't. In 2022, retail electricity prices increased 10.7 percent year over year, the highest growth since the beginning of the century. The Biden administration jailed a person for memes. The average U.S. household needs an additional $11,434 per year to maintain the same standard of living due to record-high inflation under the Biden administration. The US SPR stands at its lowest level since the 1980's. Credit card debt increased by $50 billion in the fourth quarter of 2023. Americans' credit card balances climbed to a new record high $1.13 trillion, according to data released Tuesday by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Harvard report notes U.S. homelessness rates hit a record high last year. Housing is unaffordable for a record half of all US renters. Afghanistan. I can keep going. Joe Biden is the dumbest President of all time.
Get a load of this guy. He’s over on the $20 minimum wage thread bitching up a storm and has the gall to post about wealth consolidation and families dealing with rising costs here. What a crock. He actually said wages will organically grow over there. Here he’s like…the sky, isn’t it falling cuz wages? This lack in logic permeates in the conservative movement.
With all due respect river, this is so outside the realm of mainstream opinion of the President it's not even worthy of a response. Since mid-2022, according to Reuters, Joe Biden has been hovering somewhere between a 37% approval and a 42% approval. That's not just the Fox News viewers or the hardcore righties. What does the country think of Biden? He says that Biden is owed respect and characterizes Trump as an insurrectionist to justify the notion that Joe Biden is a historically great President as two of the first points he makes. No, the original poster hasn't earned a counter-argument regarding Joe Biden's Presidency. Not a single person who dislikes Joe Biden was persuaded by that post. So he can revise the OP and try again if he really wants to genuinely argue the point.
Democrats have a real demographics problem on their hands with respect to the people in office. The younger blood is plainly not ready for prime time, particularly against the younger members of the Republican Party. If it's Ron DeSantis or Nikki Haley against Pete Buttigieg, Beto O'Rourke, AOC, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, etc. frankly, I don't think it's close. I don't think that age is the chief complaint against Joe Biden in what's causing the difference in perception of him now. It has something to do with it because we cannot be perceived as weak from abroad. But it's chiefly that Joe Biden was elected to be an unthreatening moderate President. Instead, here he is talking out of both sides of his mouth with respect to Israel and Gaza, talking aid to Ukraine without an endgame or off-ramp, promising student loan bailouts, threatening to forcibly unemploy people who were unvaccinated via OSHA during the pandemic, and prosecuting his political opponents. He was supposed to be this white knight, unthreatening moderate who would bring us back to normal. Instead, he's plastering rainbow flags all over the White House and characterizing half of the country as threats to democracy as he prosecutes his political opponents. Joe Biden is not governing or leading as he promised, plain and simple.
I'm getting more natural progression from Obama's second term vibes. He's even worse than Obama with respect to policy. If he was an older Bill Clinton with a Republican Congress, he'd probably be up double digits against Trump.
