Oven frying is less clean up and not as wasteful. That is what I normally do unless I just fried some tostones the day before and saved the oil. Fried green plantains are awesome.

Tonight we’re being treated to Ms. Jan’s chicken n’ dumplings. We’ll have fresh cream 40’s & petite butter beans and fried cornbread to go along with supper.

Pretty day here today, just a lil’breezy.

Opened my KJ all the way up for a high temp clean. It was getting crusty.

Hot dogs tonight. I have a lot of really good Publix buns that I don't want to go bad.

Tonight we’re going out for supper to the Last Catch. Probably be Parmesan fried trout for Ms. Jan and Cajun fried frog legs for me with all the expected trimmings.

Ms. Jan will more than likely say “Margarita” and they have ice cold 22 oz draft Dos Equis Lager on tap.

I am guessing sea trout for the lady of the house and not cold freshwater trout.

I find frog legs to be a delicate dish so Cajun style would not be to my taste but I would guess that they were wonderful. To each his own.

Frog legs are not "seafood". Most frog legs come from Indonesia and Vietnam. No thanks.

These come by way of Florida. Okefenokee Swamp to be precise.

The kids and families are coming back home from a week at Mexico Bch so we’re going to finish off the pot of spaghetti sauce with fresh Caesar salad and toasted garlic bread.

It was a beautiful day here today but still chilly—40* for the low with a brisk wind throughout the day.

My tumbler of Knob Creek small batch 100* will work well. The girls will either go with wine or Moscow Mules.

Just an FYI: I saw Alaskan King Crab for sale at $79/pound last month. Figured OK, I’ll never have that again. Walking past the seafood case in Publix today and it’s on sale for $29/lb (down from their regular price of $39/pound). I splurged.

Was told they’re about to get Tanner crabs in tomorrow. Tanner crabs taste just like Snow crabs, but are nearly twice the size! They’ll be priced at $17.99/pound.

    I like crab.

Tonight we’re going with white chicken chili. I add black beans to ours.
It’ll be topped with Sargento shredded Tex-Mex cheese and fresh jalapeños will be on the side.

Ice cold longnecks and chilled wine will be available as desired.

    Let’s win one today Gators!

The wife picked up a couple of those Tanner crabs, and we ate them along with the Alaskan King. Well, color us shocked. We both agreed that the Tanner crabs tasted better than the Alaskan Kings! And, at $17.99/pound are the only way to go (and that includes Snow crab, too).

Tonight was a more basic meal - Salmon patties (slim) cooked on a flat pan on the side grill, served with cocktail sauce on the side; French cut green beans and cheese grits with plenty of salt and pepper.
